Falconpaw's Assessment

Foxflight stood proud in front of the apprentice's den, it was finally time for Falconpaw to have his assessment, "Falconpaw, wake up, today we are going to have your assessment unless you want to stay in here forever." He had a little laugh and waited for his apprentice.

Falconflight sprung up in an instant, his face twosted into one of pure joy. "I'm ready right this instant!" He declaired, his voice cracking.

Foxflight was rather startled at this, "This will be easy for you." He chuckled, as he led the ambitious cat to an open area.

Foxflight paused for a moment, remembering how Kestrelstorm had set out his assessment, "Falconpaw, catch me three pieces of prey with all that have learnt. I will be watching carefully but you are a strong ambitious cat so I am sure you have nothing to worry about." He said as he sat down carefully in between some bushes, giving a nod to go ahead.

Falconpaw set to quick work, pushing Minkpaw's illness to the back of the mind. As he came up on the edge of a stone face to the moor, a rabbit nibbled below. Without hesitation, Falconpaw leaped, landing squarely on the rabit and crushing his back with the impact. The skill Falconpaw had tuned during his training was unique to him and he was proud. Shortly later, he had caught two more pieces of prey, a crow and a stray mouse, in a similar matter.

"Very nice and quick Falconpaw! Your unique strategies will aid you later on in life, you can expect your warrior ceremony soon. Good work, I am very proud of you." Foxflight praised loud and clear, it was easy to see that something was bother his apprentice but he decided it would be best not to be nosy.

Falconpaw purred. He had done it! Ye would be a warrior soon. With a dip of his head, he licked Foxflight's shoulder in appreciation.
