RiverClan's Deputy #2: Electric Boogaloo

Fishstar leapt up onto the willow branch, a pit of worry prickling around in her stomach. She'd thought long and hard about who her next deputy would be, but even now, after so much consideration, she was second-guessing herself. It was a little reassuring to think about the fact that the warrior she'd selected would learn how to handle their responsibilities in time, but it didn't totally quell the leader's unease. Sadness lingered within Fishstar, as well. Mistfeather would no longer be by her side to advise her.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a Clan meeting!"

Poolpaw (who's not a warrior yet...) came out at her mentor's call, wondering if the new deputy would be named at last.

Halfmoon did the same, wondering if her mother Tansyfoot would have gotten the position, had she been alive... Well, it definitely wouldn't be her. She missed Reedfang, her mate... Probably he would have gotten the position, had he- she stopped btghat train of thought before she got depressed again. She had nothing to offer; plus, she was deformed and would make a bad impression on the Clans. And yet... Did Fishstar want peace to her strength, or strength to her peace? That was the real question.

Frostfall joined Halfmoon by the Willow Branch. She couldn't wait to find out who the next deputy was. She had a slight hope it would be her, but she knew she was a bit young for the deputy position. Maybe Halfmoon would get it? If... if Reedfang had been here would he have gotten it? Or maybe her mother would get the position? Who knows there were many cats capable of the position.

Stormpaw padded up A new rank?

Goosepaw knew it was time for a new deputy in RiverClan. He padded over and sat down to the side of the growing crowd. He couldn't help but wonder if it would be Lionsong...

Ivyfall followed behind her daughter, taking place next to her and Halfmoon. She wasn't too heartbroken by her mother's recent injury, and her subsequent stepping down as deputy. Mistfeather was forever tainted in her eyes for her affair with Duskfall, regardless of how it resulted in her birth. Now, Ivyfall hoped someone who'd restore order and peace to RiverClan would be chosen, no more cross-clan romances and traitors, they'd suffered enough. Had Reedfang not been captured, she imagined he would have been an excellent deputy, or even Heronwing, she was kind. But now, she only remained with her brother as RiverClan's more senior warriors. Looking to the younger warriors, she could imagine being lead by them, many of them were strong, though a little hasty in their decisions.

But either way, she didn't care too much, Fishstar was a strong leader, Ivyfall would have never followed her otherwise. She trusted that someone of worth would be chosen.

Fogheart sat somewhat alone as she listened to the ceremony. She was not close to any of her siblings, not the living ones, anyway. The warrior couldn't help but wonder if one of them would become deputy in place of their mother. She knew she would never be chosen, something she thought with distaste. No leader in their right mind would pick a blind cat like herself to fill a position with so much responsibility. As much as she despised the idea, Rainstorm was one of the most qualified of her siblings to be deputy, but to her he lacked the loyalty to Riverclan that was necessary. She'd never trusted him.

Toadkit padded out of the nursery with his head held high, he sat down next to his mother and Frostfall.

Both Lightkit and Stonekit scurried after Toadkit. Lightkit giving Toadkit a smile as she sat down.

Lionsong settled next to Fogheart. As much as she wanted, she would not be the deputy this time around.

Ripplepaw padded out of the apprentice's den, taking a seat next to no one in particular. She was curious to think who might become deputy, but try as she might, no one she thought of seemed to fit the position quite right.

Dewpelt sat down quietly, saddened at the retirement of her clans deputy but glad that Mistfeather could finally have a rest. 'This must be the deputy ceremony.' She thought to herself as she gazed around, she gave a sympathetic look towards Fishstar, 'It must have been hard to let her sister go.' She thought once more.

"And what do you think you're doing out here?" Ivyfall asked her tom-kit, Toadkit and the two others kits that had come out of the nursery to see the ceremony. While she understood their excitement, this was no place for a kit to be. "To your nests, now. You'll be allowed to attend clan meetings when you're older." She nudged the three of them with her muzzle for emphasis. "Go."

Toadkit looked at Lightkit and Stonekit "B-But their here!" he pointed madly with a growl, why couldn't he just be an apprentice like the rest of his clan mates and attended these meetings?

"But i want to see the deputy!" Oakkit protested "No fair!"
