Patrol! (Open)

Kestrelstorm desired to do a patrol with his apprentice and his son. Palepaw was about to be a warrior as well, and Falconpaw not too far behind him. Nudging the two cats awake, Kestrelstorm padded out of the den to the center of camp. It would be one of his last patrols in WindClan, unknown to him.

Falconpaw was very happy when his father woke him for a patrol. Giving Minkpaw a kiss on the head, Falconpaw followed his tall father.

OoC: Guys, let's do this as fast as possible!

Palepaw followed after, tail dragging behind him as he continued on and waited for instructions.

Minkpaw was awoken by Falconpaw's lick on the head, and she got up and shook out her pelt, following after.

Maplepaw ran over "I will join!" she said exitedly

Foxflight smiled at the pair of cats, "I would love to join too." He replied with a smile.

Leafpaw was standing around when she heard the call, "Could I join too! Maybe I could spot some herbs." She called, rushing over to the gathering of cats.

Fawnpaw padded out of the apprentice's den, heading towards the gathering group. "Can I join too?" she asked, her orange eyes bright. For once she could spend a little time with her brother. Ever since they had become apprentice's, Fawnpaw hadn't spoken to her littermates much.

Kestrelstorm nodded, his orange eyes sweeping the group. "Alright, so it is me, Palepaw, Minkpaw, Falconpaw, Maplepaw, Foxflight, Leafpaw, and Fawnpaw." Kestrelstorm inwardly sighed. It was a huge patrol with a lot of apprentices. Foxflight and him would have their paws full. "Since we have such a large patrol, Foxflight and I will show the apprentices how to mark the borders. We will head to the ThunderClan border." The young warrior nodded to himself before continuing. "Palepaw, you will help Leafpaw find and carry and herbs she finds." with that, the tri-colored tom spun and headed out of camp, briskly heading towards the border. He desperately wanted to avoid the ShadowClan border in order to not see Tigerstorm while with his clanmates.

Foxflight nodded happily and padded along beside Kestrelstorm, it was nice that he was fully grown as Kestrelstorm is extremely tall and it was much easier to have a conversation, "Falconpaw is coming along just fine, extremely well if I do ay so myself although I fear he is going to be taller than me in a nick of time, gee you two could be twins." He chuckled to his previous mentor.

Leafpaw smiled at Palepaw, "Don't worry you probably won't have to carry anything I only know a few herbs." She said criticizing her lack of knowledge in a joking way.

Kestrelstorm purred, proud to hear that his son was doing well at training. "I was slightly worried that Minkpaw was distracting him too much," he flicked his long tail to the pair walking behind them. "But I am glad to hear that's not the case." The warrior paused, walking quietly for a second until they were out of earshot of the rest of the patrol. "Foxflight," Kestrelstorm murmured to his former apprentice quietly. "I may be leaving WindClan." Foxflight was the only cat Kestrelstorm could trust with this information and he needed to have the other tom promise something before he left.

Foxflight stopped walking at this point and turned to Kestrelstorm, "Leaving....Windclan? Why?" He stuttered, "Are you really sure this is what you want?" He added, he did not want to stop him unless that was what Kestrelstorm really wanted. It broke his heart but he must have a reason.

Fawnpaw followed the others, a bit behind Leafpaw and Palepaw.

Kestrelstorm kept moving and flicked his tail. Surely the tom would understand they couldn't just stop and talk. After Foxflight rejoined him he continued, ignoring the why. "I need you to be a father to Falconpaw after I leave. He'll need you." One of the things holding him back was his son. A promise that he would still have a father figure from someone he trusted would soothe his worries greatly.

Maplepaw checked the area for strange scents

Foxflight trailed slightly behind listening intently, "I will but what if Falconpaw doesn't accept me?" He sai d quielty making sure no one else would hear.

"He will." Kestrelstorm said shortly as they neared the border. Falconpaw brought up the rear with Minkpaw, but soon made his way to his father, unaware of the news he had just shared. As Kestrelstorm waited for the patrol to gather around, Kestrelstorm glanced a sympathetic look at Foxflight.

With the presence of Falconpaw, Foxflight said nothing but gave an understanding nod to Kestrelstorm, 'If this really is what he wants then of course I won't stop it' He thought to himself despite not wanting him to leave.

Leafpaw sniffed and searched around, passing numerous cobwebs and green leaves to Palepaw, "Sorry for the hassle!" She mumbled with her mouth full of ground leaves.
