Gorsefeather's Elder Ceremony

Sablestar made her way to the top of the Tallrock and called out, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Tallrock for a clan meeting!"

Finchpaw padded out looking up at Stablestar, she sneezed and then settled herself.

Flashpaw padded over and sat beside Finchpaw, looking up at Sablestar.

Finchpaw smiled at Flashpaw and purred, then turned her gaze back on Stablestar.

Emberleaf exited the Medicine Cat's den and sat down among the clan. He had his suspicions about what this ceremony was about, though he didn't know for sure.

Maizepaw limped out of the apprentice's den. His leg was still broken, but he was debating on weather or not to see the Medicine Cat about it. He sat down next to Finchpaw and waited.

Gorsefeather had been already outside, sunning his old bones in the warm of Greenleaf's light. He had spoken with Sablestar about his intentions a while back, it was time for him to let go of the reigns, give Emberleaf the title once and for all. He was tired. His kin all dead, his leader that he'd served his whole life, gone. It was time for the younger generation to take their places. So with a hope filled heart, he took his place in the clearing, proud of the apprentices he'd taught.

The only thing that weighed on him was the knowledge of his kits out there, and little Leafkit, who took too much interest in herbs. Was this how his father felt? He wondered.

Sablestar dipped her head respectfully to the old tom that served as her adviser and medicine cat. "You have been a helpful medicine cat, Gorsefeather. You have served your Clan well, and we hope that your days in the elders' den are peaceful. WindClan honors you and all the service you have given to us. I call upon StarClan to give you many moons of rest." She then hopped from the Tallrock.

Ashwing walked over to Gorsefeather. He had served his Clan well, as a dutiful and skillful medicine cat and as her friend. "I hope you have a good rest," she purred. "You deserve it.'

OOC: can Stormkit meet her dad again at the border?

Leafpaw gazed up at Gorsefeather, a little awkwardly as she never knew him well so didn't know what to say, "I am sure you served the clan very well, you deserve to have a rest now." She said happily in a high pitch mew.
