Frostpaw Assessment

Ivyfall waited by a thick cluster of reeds, looking up at the sky with her sea green eyes half flittered shut as she waited for her daughter, Frostpaw to join her. She was her brother's apprentice, but with Rainstorm being a new father and all, she took the burden of training an apprentice off him so he could spend time with his new family. For all her issues with RiverClan stemming from her parents, it warmed her heart to see him settle down with kits. Her heart would always burn with fury against ThunderClan, and belonging in RiverClan fully felt far off, but with her kits growing up here, and his, she could see herself growing to love the clan.

And of course, it did help that everyone in the clan was technically family. Soon her eldest daughter would share a den with her. Time flied, it felt like yesterday she was called Featherpaw, running around amongst the trees. A strange twist of fate. But she couldn't bring herself to fully loathe it anymore. What would she do without her kits? If only Jaypaw was here to share this moment with them, but that was a bitter line of thought. Lightly shaking her head, she pushed that all aside. Instead, she closed her eyes and enjoyed the Greenleaf sunlight, letting it chase away her thoughts until Frostpaw came.

Frostpaw pulled herself from the apprentice den, giving a small stretch before making her way over to her mother. "What are we doing today?" She asked.

"Just a hunting assessment." Ivyfall replied casually as if she was suggestion it was just another patrol, but her eyes were gleaming with excitement on her daughter's behalf. From what she's heard from Rainstorm, Frostpaw had been doing well with her training, she knew that she was going to pass with flying colours.

"Oh alright.. Where should I start?" She asked curiously. She was slightly used to going off on her own a little bit with Rainstorm close behind.

Leading them both a little way outside camp, Ivyfall stopped near the stream. "Well first, I'd like to see you fish. You are a RiverClan cat after all." She gestured to the flowing river with a paw, personally she disliked the wetness of rivers, but her daughter was a RiverClan cat, unfortunately fishing was a part of their life.

Frostpaw stepped to the water without any hesitation. She sat at the water's edge making sure her shadow wasn't being cast on the water. Her blue eyes scanned the water for a moment before a single white paw flashed into the water pulling a fish free from it's living space. Quickly she killed the fish, and looked up at Ivyfall.

Ivyfall nodded at her achievement, she'd caught the fish expertly. Her brother had taught her well. "Now, while we catch fish primarily, there's other creatures that lurk amongst the reeds. Bring me back two other prey species. This will involve you being as silent as possible. Do your best."

Frostpaw nodded. She went away from her mother off deeper into the territory. Soon she scented a vole, and got into crouch. She crept forward until she saw the prey. She pounced on it swiftly killing it, and stashing it away. One down.

The white tabby quickly moved on to find something else. Soon she scented a mouse, which was sort of rare in their territory. She crouched once again, and crept forward. When she was close enough she pounced, and killed it. Then she sat waiting on Ivyfall to appear again.

Ivyfall had been following behind silently, watching her daughter take down prey after prey. It was impressive, particularly the mouse since catching them weren't easy on a RiverClanner. It require a sort of delicate movement that most RiverClan cats lacked, she was only good as she'd been taught to hunt in the forest. "Well done." She purred, appearing behind Frostpaw. "Let's head back to camp." She kept her tone neutral, not giving away if she'd passed or not. She'd find out tonight at her warrior ceremony.
