The Elite Squad BD (Closed)

Kestrelstorm stretched as he exited Sablestar's den, where he had been sleeping with his mate recently. They didn't sleep curled up to each other, but they were still in proximity. To Kestrelstorm, that was quite enough. After the birth of his kits, he had been staying in camp more and had been feeling closer to his mate, but the affection had died down again. With a yawn, Kestrelstorm took off to the middle of the camp to meet his apprentice, mate, and deputy for a patrol they had arranged to go on together last night.

Foxpaw walked up to Kestrelstorm and let out a yawn, "I'm ready to start when you all are, take your time, especially you Kestrelstorm! You're a father now." He greeted cheerfully sitting down patiently.

Kestrelstorm chuckled, settling down next to his apprentice. This may very well be their last patrol together as mentor and apprentice. "Though, Sablestar is having it the roughest. I'm not sure when she last left camp." he paused to lick his paw and run it over his ear. "Have you seen him though? Falconkit? You would think he's really a bird with all that leaping he does." he said with another deep chuckle. This is what life was supposed to be. Patrols with your favorite cats.

Ashwing padded out of the warriors' den to see Kestrelstorm and his apprentice sitting in the middle of camp. "Hey, Kestrelstorm, " the deputy purred at her friend. " Where's Sablestar? "

"Still in the den. She's been caring for the kits a lot." he said, dipping his head to the deputy. He had hated her for a good moon and a half, but now she was on the list of his favorite cats. He really liked having favorite cats.

Sablestar gave another lick of one of her kits before leaving the nursery, ducking out and approaching the patrol. "Sorry, I'm ready. I was just checking up on Horsekit and Falconkit... again." She gave each cat a nod of acknowledgement. "Shall we go now?" she purred, glancing sideways at her mate.

Ashwing grinned at the two lovebirds. "Which border will we patrol?" she asked.

"We should patrol the border by Four Trees. We had a rogue on the land the other day." he suggested, slightly brushing against his mate awkwardly to let her know he acknowledged her presence and thanking her for caring for his kits.

"Sounds like a good plan, your little bundle of energy has the perfect name if I do say so myself." Foxpaw purred, he thought it was very sweet to name the kit after Falconstar, it just seemed fitting.

"Sounds great," Ashwing agreed. "Rogues are dangerous... We've only been seeing more of them since Wisteriasky left," she added darkly.

Kestrelstorm stood with a frown. "Hopefully the activity will die down soon." He agreed as he started to head for the camp entrance.

Foxpaw nodded trailing behind his mentor, "I do too, it is a shame that some have the potential to be good warriors but that lifestyle just isn't for them I guess."
