TC Patrol (Open)

Darkflight had risen early this morning, early enough to organize a patrol. To be honest, she still wasn't used to the responsibility yet, but she had to someday. She peered her head into the apprentice's den and called out. "Dawn patrol! Wake up, Gentlepaw!"

Gentlepaw slept soundly in her den, her chest rising and falling softly as she slumbered in a tranquil yet dreamless darkness. "Wake up, Gentlepaw!" a voice suddenly stirred the young apprentice. "Huh?" she muttered groggily, her amber eyes fluttering open. She winced as the dawn light flooded into her eyes. Slowly, her eyes adjusted, and she made out Darkflight's figure partially blocking the entrance to the apprentice's den. "Dawn Patrol?" Gentlepaw perked up, jumping up from her nest. "G'morning Darkflight!" she chirped happily.

Thinstripe had been sitting near the fresh-kill pile and saw Gentlepaw and Darkflight her mentor and deputy, she walked in the apprentice den slowly "May I also join?"

Ryestep couldn't sleep, and had risen immediately when he heard the deputy walk by his nest in the warriors' den. "Could I come?" he asked with a yawn.

The deputy nodded to the warriors and apprentice, glancing at the sky to check the time. "Before we go, I want you to know that I scented a rouge a few days ago. So if you smell an unfamiliar scent, please let me know." With that, she trotted out into the territory, glancing back to make sure the other three were following her.

Gentlepaw nodded and trotted after her mentor.

Thinstripe nodded and trotted soon behind

Ryestep inclined his head in acknowledgement and followed close behind, carefully scenting the air.

She led them to the Riverclan border, and Darkflight couldn't help but gaze at Sunningrocks. It currently belonged to Thunderclan, but she was concerned for how long the other clan had been quiet. Their long-time enemies had not tried taking back what they thought was rightfully theirs. She thought there had been a flash of fur on the other side of the river and shook her head. It was gone. Still, she approached the warm rocks and sniffed around, trying to detect any trace of Riverclan scent.

Gentlepaw stayed glued to her mentor, copying whatever she did.

Ryestep sniffed around the base of Sunningrocks. Was it just him, or did they smell more like RiverClan than usual? He scented the air again, trying to be sure.

She went over to inspect to rocks, she lifted her muzzle up and sniffed RiverClan's scent? she thought. She trotted over to Darklflight "I scented RiverClan's scent" she reported looking at the rocks

The deputy's ears perked curiously and padded over to the place where Thinstripe had been moments before. She sniffed at the area, finding Riverclan's scent as well. "Mark it to let them know that we know. If they're smart they won't come back." Darkflight twitched her tail and glanced across the river again. "Try and find if there's any more of the scent or if anything is out of place." She couldn't help but wonder if the cat she'd seen a quarter of a moon ago was the same as the one she thought she saw across the river.

Gentlepaw began sniffing around, hoping Riverclan wasn't trying to start a battle.
