A morning with Maizekit (open)

Golden sunlight poured through the nursery's entrance as a small, newborn-ish kit stirred awake. The tom's yellow eyes shimmered in the sun's rays; and his short, pink, flesh-colored fur fluffed up around him to keep out the cold. Maizekit rolled around in his bed of moss until he could manage to get his paws under him, then he looked around at the sleeping bodies before he stumbled to where the beautiful light was coming through. Maizekit's pelt shined in the sun when he stepped out of the nursery and took a big breath of the fresh air. It was much nicer out there than it was in the nursery, but it was a whole lot colder, too. Questions raced through his mind as he staggered around, trying to get a feel for his home. What was this place called? Why was it so cold outside? Was the food for him? The tom didn't know.

Maizekit sniffed the air as he continued to wander around camp. He stopped after every few steps to observe something near by; a stone, a patch of grass, a piece of rolled-up moss, there was so much to explore! As he was walking about and adventuring, a shadow came over him, and the tom looked up to see the shape of a cat in front of him. "H...hello," he said. Maizekit had never met another cat before, so he hoped this one was nice.

Harekit was exploring the camp as well, he gave a welcoming look to Maizekit and nodded to the kit. "Hi. What's your name? I'm Harekit." The tom hadn't seen this kit around before, it would be his first cat as well, besides his family. The tom sat down and curled his tail around his paws.

(Hey Lettuceturtle, is it alright if I just assume Fawn and Hare are really close, even if Harekit does annoy Fawnkit sometimes? They've barely interacted with each other in RP, so we can just insta-relationship them. xD)
Fawnkit skipped after Harekit, trailing her brother mercilessly. She was bored, and Harekit was always doing something interesting. However, as her brother approached the strange kit, Fawnkit's shyness showed. She pressed close to Harekit, stealing only a few glances at the other kit. "A-and... I'm F-Fawnkit..." she stuttered, her ear tips burning with embarrassment. What was wrong with her? Even if she was a little shy sometimes, she wasn't usually this bad...

Maizekit studdied the other tom kit, who was brown with lighter brown patches. "I'm Maizekit," the pinkish colored cat replied. Harekit looked nice enough, and Maizekit was starting to decide he liked him when a different cat slithered up next to Harekit. She was all brown with beautiful eyes that kept flickering away and embarassment burning in her face. Fawnkit. Her name was Fawnkit, and a beautiful name it was. "Hi, I'm Maizekit." A feeling lit up deep inside of him, a deep and blazing feeling that he had never felt before. The young kit felt a conection of some sort with the she-cat, and he didn't kniw how to explain it, but he sensed something special about her. "Do either of you know where we are? Like...the name of this place? My momma didn't tell me." His voice was quiet and somewhat cowarding, and he bit his tounge to keep questions from exploding out of his mouth. It was so hard to not just let them blurt out of his muzzle, but he had to keep himself from looking like a fool and more of a weirdo than he already was because of his pink pelt.

Maizekit...so that's his name... Fawnkit lifted her gaze to finally look the him in the eyes. She was suddenly caught up in an emotion she didn't have the words to describe. His pelt was a color she'd never seen before, and everything about him was so intriguing. No matter how much she willed herself to, Fawnkit couldn't look away. "This is Winclan..." she answered in a dreamy, barely-audible murmur.
