Wisteriapaw's Ceremony

The sky was dark and cloudy on the day she left RiverClan to receive her name. She was alone, listening to the silent forest as she made her way to the Moonstone. Acornheart had offered to go with her, but she denied the offer and requested to go alone, as she had done most of her training in solitude. She felt accomplished; she had completed her training with no help from StarClan and very little from other medicine cats. She had lost her store the first few days after her mentor's death, but had successfully built it back up to thriving and healed a devastatingly sick clan with her own paws. Wisteriapaw felt wise and old; she had out lasted all of her littermates; even Aspenberry. A tang of sadness strung her heart for her brother.

As the moon reached the highest point, she entered the tunnels and charged blindly forward. Her whiskers brushed smooth, cold walls and she felt collapsed and alone. As she reached the cave, she saw a huge glowing light from ahead. Wisteriapaw rushed forward, not wanting to waste precious time. Laying down, she pressed her nose to the cool stone.

Her eyes opened and she was on the riverbank of her home, but it looked different... shimmery. The sky was a shade of purple; the shade of wisteria. Looking around she saw glorious looking cats crowding around her. A large white tom stepped forward, dipping his head. He had long, meticulously cleaned fur. Another white cat stood behind him.

"Welcome Wisteriapaw," the tom said softly. "I am Lichencloud, a former RiverClan medicine cat. This is my mentor, Morningfur." Both of the she-cats dipped their heads silently, and Lichencloud continued on. "You have trained yourself well, Wisteriapaw, and StarClan now recognizes you as the full medicine cat of RiverClan. From now on, you will be known as Wisteriasky, because for you, the sky is the limit. Continue on with your path, young one." With a nod, the former medicine cat stepped back and the cats around her started fading. Wisteriasky! Wisteriasky! Wisteriasky! She could hear chanting around her as the vision faded.

Wisteriasky awoke with a start, feeling complete and full. 'Hm, Wisteriasky...' she thought as she exited. 'Not bad. Not bad at all...'
