The queen probably wasn't even allowed to leave the camp. But all of her kittens were apprentices or older, so why should she be confined into the nursery? She silently, with her paws leaving imprints in the newly fallen snow, made her way to the apprentice's den. She glanced inside and her gaze rested on the cat she needed. Halfpaw. The poor cat had been 'injured' at birth, causing a deformity in her facial region. Salmonstripe nudged her apprentice with her frost-covered paw. "Halfpaw, come on. Time for training."

IC: Halfpaw aroused immediately. "What kind? I'm ready." She needed to be the best. She needed to prove them wrong. Her dad said she had her mother's voice, but she had her father's fur- well, most of it. The problem was her deformity.
