Guess Whose Back?

It'd been some time when he was home. The gray tabby tom took in a deep breath, his blue eyes scanning the entrance to the camp of SkyClan. No doubt they'd smell his scent too, and hopefully not jump for the squirrel too soon, lest he get scratched up a little. He was afraid about being gone for so long, his clan scent had washed away. How disgraceful was that?

It hadn't been the best time of his. He had been on the way to Highstones to speak with their ancestors. On the way, however, he'd been injured by a monster, and for once his former life as a rogue had come in handy. He had managed to get himself to safety beyond the forest and make peace with a few loners until he was strong enough to return home. He had lost two lives in the process, but he was thankful he could come home again.

Finally, Breezestar pushed his way through the slick bramble wall, entering his home again. "SkyClan!" He yowled out, "Fawnspirit? Nightfoot? Larktalon?"

Sandpaw looked out of her best to see a cat. She scampered up and raced over to the cat, fur on end.
"Breeze star!" Sandpaw let out a startled gasp.

Rabbitwhisker had leapt out of the warrior den expecting an attack as a familar yet rogue like scent had invaded the clearing. His claws were out, teeth bared, ready to defend the clan with his life. So many had been lost over a short period of time, Rockfall, Heatherfang, Orcaheart and her kits. It was enough to make the tom antsy that something terrible would happen and take his few remain kits from him. But what he found instead was joyful news. Breezestar was back!

"Someone fetch, Acornpaw!" He yowled, racing over to the leader's side. "Thank StarClan you live, Breezestar."

Panic surged through Stormwing for a moment as she heard a voice echo throughout the camp. Could it be..? No. She was mouse-brained. But when she saw him, there was no doubt in her mind. He indeed was here.

Getting up and bounding over to the tom, soft purrs echoed from her throat as she rubbed her cheek against his in greeting. It had been so long... Her father had died in the process, and it had been distraught for the entire Clan when they had learned about this event. "You're alright..." She breathed, her paws urging to carry her towards the front of the camp to gather the clan in honor to show that he was back, but no. Even if her father had died and Breezestar had disappeared for some time, they needed to find this by themselves.

A large purr erupted from Breezestar as he greeted his family once again, brushing lovingly against them. Even if they weren't all related by blood, the bonds that held them together were still stronger that Breezestar himself could've imagined. "I've missed you all!" He meowed, "I'm sorry. When I had left, I had no idea StarClan had detours planned for me."

Peering out from the shady den, his lack of confidence vanished into thin air as soon as Breezestar spoke any words. "Hello, Breezestar!" He purred, leaping out of the misery into a world of happiness. He was unafraid to talk in front of his Clanmates to the dearest leader, even though most dared not to do so.

With a grin wider than miles, he stood up next to Sandpaw and his father, Rabbitwhisker. He felt a sudden mix of emotions as if a witch came in and brewed happiness and proud-ness together.

While Stormwing was still elated at the fact that her leader had returned, the thought of her father had once again crossed her mind. She would have to tell him. "Does this mean, that you will appoint someone in Rockfall's place?" Her voice was soft, as she whispered into his ear. She'd rather not have the rest of the clan listen, although, if they did there'd be no problem with it. They all knew he had passed on, and it had struck the she-cat a bit harder than others, seeing that he was his only remaining daughter living.

The tom smiled, happily neowing a greeting and swiping a playful paw against Sandpaw's ear. Things seemed as bright as he remembered when he left Breezestar froze where he stood, his head whipping around to face the young Stormwing. ... Had the great brown Tom fallen? "Y-Yes, I'll supposed I have too."
