Longpaw's Training (Open Patrol)

Slateslash nodded thoughtfully. "Good, so far. Anyway, let's continue. Have you seen a move that uses the hunting crouch?" he asked.

Goldenpaw shook her head. She knew Slatesplash most likely wasn't talking to her, but she was intrigued.

The warrior smiled, twitching his tail-tip ever-so-slightly. "What moves do the rest of you know?" he inquired, tilting his head diliberately toward Goldenpaw and any other apprentice that wasn't his own.

Longpaw watched, a little frustrated that he knew so little. Well, he would learn, so help him.

Smokepelt followed the patrol and at down in silence, watching Slateslash's mentoring. He simply tilted his heard in curiosity, watching the apprentices.

Silverpaw perked her stubby grey ears, "What about when you're stalking a cat to attack and you use your hunting crouch before leaping?" She mewed as she tilted her head, although her green eyes were currently focused on Smokepelt, she pretended not to notice she flicked her soft tail at him.

"Ambush," Goldenpaw piped up," Wait in the grass then when they are unsuspecting, you leap out and attack them. Always keep low and upwind of the cat," Goldenpaw mewed then crouched down shyly.

Smokepelt caught Silverpaw's eyes and tried not the show his affection. He was about to walk over to her, seeing her tail motion for him. But then hearing Goldenpaw's voice made his ears turn towards her, listening to the apprentice's explanation about ambushing. He suddenly remembered when he chatted with her a few mornings ago.

The gray tabby tom nodded at Goldenpaw, checking her crouch carefully. He nodded when he realized that her crouch was nearly perfect. "That's right, Goldenpaw. I know I'm not anyone's mentor but Longpaw's, but I want each of you to try this move out on anything that you can pounce on." he mewed, glancing at Smokepelt to see if the gray and white tom had anything to add.
