Leopardpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar yowled.

Mousepaw awoke from Thrushstar's call, and she walked to the Jaggedrock. She smiled, though she knew it wasn't her warrior ceromony. The apprentice forced a smile on her face, and she purred quietly.

Leopardpaw brushed down his sleek short fur and padded into the clearing. He was calm, despite knowing his ceremony was about to start. He sat in front of the crowd and wrapped his tail around his paws tightly.

Cinderpaw padded out of the apprentices' den, finding Mousepaw and Leopardpaw. Could this be Leopardpaw's warrior ceremony? She remembered how small the tom used to be, and finally having some training, he was soon to become a warrior.

Shimmerkit poked her head out of the medicine cats' den. She saw lots of cats under the Jaggedrock. Seeing Leopardpaw looking excited, she assumed it was her friend's warrior ceremony. She was so happy that his patience (almost nonexistent though it was) had finally paid off! The Leopardpaw she saw seemed a far cry than the one she had met by the fresh-kill pile that day. Wishing she could leave the medicine den and say something to him, she contented herself with purring quietly from where she was, "Congratulations, Leopardpaw."

OOC: what do you want the warrior name to be? Or do you have any suggestions if you want me to name him??

"Tonight we gather to make this apprentice a warrior," Thrushstar said, looking down at Leopardpaw. "Leopardpaw, please step forward."

OOC: Leopardfang would be my first choice, but if you think there's something better sounding and more fitting then you're welcome to choose that instead

IC: Leopardpaw stepped forward at the summons, suddenly aware of his friends watching. It was funny, really. He hadn't considered them friends too long ago, but now... well, they must have grown on him when he wasn't paying attention. It had secretly worried him when a few of them had bravely faced the dogs, but he'd not mention anything about that. His green eyes met Thrushstar's and he proudly held his gaze, awaiting what he was certain would be a glorious lifetime of being a warrior.

"Leopardpaw, do you promise to serve and protect this clan, as well as uphold the warrior code, even at the cost of your life?" He asked, watching the apprentice, feeling a little proud of his accomplishments.

He lifted his chin slightly and meowed, "I do!" He'd meant to answer in a more controlled manner, but an edge of excitement and fervor managed to slip into his voice and to his own ears he sounded like a kitten fresh out of the nursery. Leopardpaw winced internally, but it was too late to change anything.

"Then from this day forward, you will be known as Leopardfang, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Shadowclan," Thrushstar announced before leaping off of the rock to let the rest of the clan finish the ceremony.

"Congratulations, Leopardfang," the she-cat mewed joyfully. "You deserved to become a warrior!"

"Leopardfang! Leopardfang!" Shimmerkit cheered quietly from the medicine cats' den. Finally, he gets his wish.
