A turtle's training (for Ash/Tansy)

Frozenflame waited for his apprentice, Turtlepaw, to join him as he waited. It was time for a training patrol thingy so Frozenflame had told Turtlepaw to meet him right outside of sunningrocks. Once the tom heard someone approaching, he sat up. "Hi Turtlepaw."

"Hey Frozenflame," the apprentice purred. "Where are we patrolling today? RiverClan or ShadowClan's border?"

"Hi, Turtlepaw," The mentor replied. "We will be patrolling the Shadowclan border today," he purred before standing up and turning around. With a flick of his tail to tell Turtlepaw to follow, Frozenflame bolted away towards the border.

OOC: Frozenflamebolted? Long name. LOL

Turtlepaw trotted after him, trying not to wince as her leg ached. She hadn't gone very far before she stopped, wheezing. "Sorry," she rasped. "My throat is still mad about the fire." After coughing for a little bit she padded onwards, embarrassed.

OOC: Srry, I was in a rush. Edited it. lol

IC: Frozenflame halted as he realized that the sound of footsteps behind him were missing. He turned around to see Turtlepaw walking towards him from far away. The multi-colored tom padded over. "Ah, I see. Let's take things slow today, then." Frozenflame started to walk and before long, the two were at the border.

"Tell me, have you already memorized this scent?" he asked, breathing in the foul odor. The mentor looked over the she-cat and waited for an answer.

OOC: Are they going to meet a SC patrol or something?

Turtlepaw opened her jaws and scented the air. A sour smell hit the top of her mouth. ShadowClan. "Yes," she growled, her lip curling. "The worst scent in the forest... except perhaps the fishy smell of RiverClan."

OOC: They can if you want them to.

IC: "Good. They, along with Riverclan, don't get along with us too well. Windclan is the only clan which we are somewhat allies with." Frozenflame's amber eyes darted onto Shadowclan's territory across the Thunderpath; the tom was sure he had seen movement come from there. "Stand back a little bit, I think another cat is coming." Frozenflame stepped forward and bristled, mouth pulling back into a snarl and fangs gleaming as his eyes flickered around, searching for a cat.

OOC: Do you know anyone who has cats in SC who might meet us here?

Turtlepaw looked off into the distance. The bitter scent of ShadowClan was slowly getting stronger, and some of the grass was rustling. Suddenly nervous, she hid behind Frozenflame and peeked her head out.

A grey tabby Dhe cat with ginger tabby tint came out from a bush on the Shadowclan side of the border. Sandpaw looked about warrior size almost ready to be a warrior. She was with a patrol and had come to a stop at the border for a moment. Sandpaw looked at the thunderclanners on the other side of the border.

Ooc I was asked to join in with my Shadowclan apprentice...

"Is that a ShadowClan cat?" Turtlepaw squeaked from behind her mentor. "What is she doing? What do we do?" She was starting to panic. This was her first encounter with a cat from another Clan who wasn't at the Gathering.

"Quit your jabbering," Frozenflame said to his apprentice. "That is a Shadowclan cat and we can easily take her down, two against one, so don't act like a coward. The first thing you need to learn is to always show your opponent that you aren't afraid of them. The second thing you need to learn is to stay calm in situations like this." The tom turned back to the Shadowclan cat and growled. "What are you doing so close to the border?" he called across calmly, even though he looked like he was ready to pounce.

Sandpaw frowned her tail flicking" keep your temper down. I'm just on a patrol with my clanmates."She huffed her tail bristled slightly .
