Kits everywhere [Birth Topic]

Frostsnap was with kits, it was undeniable. At first, she'd just looked a little bigger than usual, but over time it became abundantly clear she was pregnant. But she didn't let that stop her from doing her duties and guarding like everyone else. She watched the camp religiously, taking her token job as camp guard seriously. She knew Duskfall was just humouring her, but she did the job anyway. She hated how useless she felt waddling around, and doing things like this helped.

She had a moment of passion with the kit's father, Dawngaze and it was fun, young and free. But whatever passions they shared, fizzled away when he realised he needed to take responsibility. That was fine with her, but that didn't mean she enjoyed being useless. Her kits were her own, and they'd grow up fine.

So when a rolling pain deep within had her fall to the ground, she wasn't afraid but relived. It was time to finally meet her children.

"Someone, get Coalpaw and help me to a nest. I think my kits are coming."

Coalpaw heard the call from the Medicine Cat's den. She flicked and ear and quickly grabbed the herbs she need and padded from the Medicine Cat's den on quick paws.

"Hold on, let me help you." Duskfall came from where he had been speaking to another warrior with bounding leaps. He pressed himself against the queen, helping her up. It was a little difficult as she kept slipping down in pain, but he managed to pull her along till they reached a space between two rocks that was as sheltered as they could get at Sunningrocks.

"Ugh." Frostsnap groaned, lying on her side once they got to her nest. She curled up into a ball in agony, and hissed. "When is Coalpaw coming? These kits aren't too interested in waiting any longer."

Coalpaw rushed over " I'm right here " She mewed. She set down the herbs that were needed quietly. The dark fired she cat nudged some herbs to here " here eat these " She mewed.

"What are these?" Frostsnap meowed in distaste as she chewed on the bitter tasting herbs. Her nose wrinkled at the flavours, though she quickly let it go once a contraction passed through her. "Is it meant to be so painful?"

"It was borage it will help with milk now chew these and swallow the juices it will ease the pain of the kitting it's Chervil " Coalpaw mewed nudging the herb to the queen.

A fiery orangish-yellow tom is born.

OOC: I was going to post, Cloverpool. I was just busy with other things and RL. And you are allowed to RP as your kit before they're born, as long as it's clear it's set after their birth.

"Chervil? Fine." Frostsnap bent down her head to eat these herbs before her. The taste was no better than the borage, but she kept it down, hoping it would ease the pain as Coalpaw had promised. After eating, the she-cat curled up in a ball then stretched out again as contractions ran through her. The pain was intense for the first time mother but she endured. And eventually, when the time came, she pushed and gave birth to her first kit.

It was a cream coloured she-cat that reminded her of her aunt, Hawkstrike. She licked the kit clean, and was about to move her when another wave of pain came. The she-cat then gave birth to a tom with fiery yellow fur. She licked the tom as well, and picked them up both, dropping them near her belly to drink.

"Are they healthy, Coalpaw?"

Coalpaw watched quietly. She always enjoyed helping queens give birth. She got to see the kits. She then snapped from her thoughts and slowly checked over the two kits quietly and after a moment she mewed " yes they are healthy if anything does come up let me know but I will be in and out to check on you and the kits " she mewed.

"StarClan have truly blessed me. Two healthy kits. I will call cream she-cat, Meadowkit. The tom I will call Summitkit." Frostsnap licked their heads as they suckled lovingly, overcome with intense love for her kits. They were of her flesh and blood, and something about that tugged at her heartstrings. She cradled them all close, keeping them warm from the cold as she always would. Her first litter, she would always cherish them. "Thank you for your help, Coalpaw."

Summitkit snuggled up against his sister once he was done suckling and fell asleep purring.
