This moment in time (Closed for me and Coal)

The almost full moon was high in the sky, stars shining bright all around. The scent of flowers coated the area where Blazingheart was, for he had picked a bunch of roses and carefully decorated the trees and bushes in a complete circle around the area of where he was. Two small nests sat facing each other, a pice of prey in front of both and in-between the two prey was a rose. It was set up like a dinner table, the nests of moss as chairs, the fresh kill was the food, and the rose was a romantic flower in the center of the table. Blazingheart had groomed his short ginger tabby fur, making him look as handsome as ever. His dim amber eyes seemed to have a fire in them, which was very rare.

The fairly old tom gave off a slight glow in the moonlight, adding to his handsomeness. He had made sure to pick this spot far away from any patrols that would go through, making sure him and Hollyberry wouldn't be disturbed. A small sound...a twig cracking...alerted the tom that somebody was coming, and with the unmistakeable scent of the she-cat coming towards him, Blazingheart knew without a doubt that this was her. He sat silently on his nest of moss with a smile on his face and waited for the black she-cat to appear out of the undergrowth.

Hollyberry moved through the undergrowth, ferns brushing against her back. Her eyes were closed and a small smile graced her features. She purred, opening her eyes. Her radiant smile lit up into a Cheshire grin, making her shining green eyes sparkle in the moonlight. Her fur was groomed very neatly, accenting her slight shape. The moonlight hitting her black fur caused it to emit a shimmering glow. The black she-cat settled on the moss comfortably, tilting her head while admiring her handsome mate. "It's gorgeous, Blazinheart! Thank you." Hollyberry murmured, her voice little more than the light breeze whispering through the trees. And with that, she broke into another beautiful smile, gazing at the fiery tom.

Blazingheart's mouth formed into a bigger smile at his mate's beauty when she walked over. "No Hollyberry, your gorgeous, and there is no need to thank me." The tabby stretched forward, licking his mate's cheek and drinking in her sweet scent. "You deserved it." He pulled back and sat up straight. "Dig in, shall we?" he purred, rather then asked. Blazingheart didn't wait for an answer to bend down and take a bite of the plump mouse in front of him. 

The tom couldn't help but remember the first time they met, when he scared Hollyberry (or Hollykit at the time). He knew it was love at first sight, and he was glad about it. "Hey, remember when we first met? Or I guess it was when we first talked to each other. We had known the other's name, but we never really conversed. Man, we were so young back then. It was really easy to scare you too." He laughed and looked up at Hollyberry.

Hollyberry tilted her head and shrugged, the smile still on her face. "I guess it was!" she laughed, before taking a bite of the prey. She lifted her head, suddenly remembering when they were kits. "Remember all of the drama we were causing with Graykit and Wildkit?" She didn't need to say anymore to feel a gleeful laugh bubbling in her throat. She tipped her head slightly, waiting for Blazingheart to reminisce on something before she started up again. While she waited, thoughts of Greenleaf, Gentlebreeze, and all of her other fallen kits. Not noticing, her face fell slightly, decreasing some of her beauty. The black she-cat lifted her head to the stars and smiled mournfully as some of the stars twinkled, as if greeting her. Turning her gaze back to the handsome tom, she shook off the sadness and smiled.

At the memory of Greykit and Wildkit, Blazingheart saddened a little. "I remember. Do you remember how Greywing and I were enemies? We became friends though." he chuckled a little and took another bite. "We even adopted their kit once they both died..." he trailed off and looked up at the stars with Hollyberry, seeing the same stars shine brighter then the rest. "They were a great couple, just like we are. Do you also remember when we were attacked by a badger by the Thunderpath?" He noticed Hollyberry's sadness, but still thought she was the most beautiful thing in the world.

Some of the warrior's sadness seemed to strip away the more she thought of the past. Slowly, a grin crept up her face. "Yeah, I remember... You were so brave..." she murmured, gazing at the stars. As soon as she saw the twinkling stars, another memory hit her. "Do you remember when our first litter of kits was born?" she asked, smiling.
