Hey GrayFlower,
You have to make an application first and sign up and stuff. And... yeah. I'd write longer explanations, but I'm at a point where I'm still studying for Finals.
Basically, go to Cat Creation, fill out the template, wait for admin approval, get approved, and voila. You're free to go.
Oh, everyone starts off as a kit btw.
