Dawn's light peeps through the gorse [For Crys and WC kits]

The day was a sunny one, expected considering it was Greenleaf, but it was still a pleasant surprise to come out to. Gorsefeather had spent a good part of the morning, meticulously organising the herbs he'd gather with his sister the day before. A first the den was organised as Suntail, his father and mentor, had placed it, but over time the calico had re-done everything. It was in a system he could understand, and access with ease. The perfect system.

Which was one of the many reasons why Gorsefeather didn't appreciate kits wandering about in his den. That along with the deathberries he'd placed in the farthest corner within, hidden under a small mound of pebbles. He had no intention of any innocent cats dying under his watch. But as strict as he was about maintaining his space, he was a cat and had needs. Like eating, so he ducked out of his den, to share a rabbit with someone under a bush. Leaving his den open to any little kit to visit and muck up.

He'd heard about Gorsefeather.. Rumors had it that he was one big bully! At least to kits he was, the pretty she-kit had always shown interest in herbs although she preferred to be a warrior then be stuck in a den all day. Her ears perked as she peered her petite ginger head out of the nursery wondering if Gorsefeather had left his den or not. Her bright blue eyes gleamed with excitement as she watched the tom leave his den, the kit didn't care where the tom wandered of too but Dawnkit saw it as a chance to take a peak in his den!

Tip-toeing out of the nursery Dawnkit slowly made her way towards the den of Gorsefeathers, she hoped that nobody else had took notice of her. Finally approaching the den the she-kit tried her best not to squeal from excitement instead she entered quietly her tail twitching as her beautiful blue eyes looked around.

Looked like the tom liked keeping things tidy, it would be mean to ruin his hard work! Although her curiosity was to great. The light ginger she-kit sniffed at the herbs, gently poking them as if she expected them to great a mess of some sort. Though the herbs did nothing at all, it was a bit dissapointing but oh well.

She'd wished that her den was this big, she had to share it with all of the kits in the entire clan! Deep in thought the small kit tumbled over a small pebble causing all of the herbs around her to tumble onto the ground. Dawnkit blinked rather surprised of her actions, her ears quickly pinned to her head a feeling of guilt grabbing onto her heart. "Oh no..." She muttered, picking up some of the herbs in attempt to clean up her giant mess.

A sound...a squeal...came from the herbs which had been knocked over. A ginger head popped out of the fallen pile, soon followed by a body. "Dawnkit, you've revealed my hiding spot," he said angrily. "Is Gorsefeather in here? I was trying to hide from him. I snuck in earlier, not realizing he was in here. I hid in the herbs before he saw me." Emberkit had always had a wanting to learn about herbs. He loves helping out cats and caring for them. He hoped to be a medicine cat some day. "We have to clean this up before Gorsefeather gets back!"

When he heard the telltale squeaks of young kits, Gorsefeather knew he was in for a disaster, maybe some herbs scattered about. But what he came across was far worse than he could have ever imagined. His herbs were everywhere, mixed up, but that wasn't the worst thing. Mixed up herbs could be sorted back into place over time, it would take effort, but he'd get it done eventually. No, it was that the deathberries he'd hid were mixed up amongst them. Some of them even squished slightly.

Everything in the den was going to have to be tossed out.

It took all of his willpower not to let his temper get the best of him, they were probably just curious. Curious little kits meaning no harm, but the desire to throw them out by their scruffs was there.

"What do you two think you're doing?"

She had stumbled over the herbs on trying to clean up her mess, it was her fault. If Gorsefeather had to get mad at someone it should be her, the small kit's ears flickered at the sound of a squeal, Dawnkit leaped back at the sight of Emberkit's head. Slamming her head onto ground rather hard, she winced as she attempted to get up giving emberkit a rather harsh glare. "Well your the one who startled me! Now my head hurts..." The pretty she-kit mewed, feeling as if she was about to cry from the pain but she had to clean up this mess first.

Dawnkit nodded towards emberkit continuing to pick up some herbs scattered through out the ground. If gorsefeather came they'd be done for! The sound of paw-steps approached her ears, her eyes widening from fear. "What do we do Emberkit?! He's coming!!" She mewed towards the tom, looking left and right - panicking.

"Quick let's hide!!" She snapped towards the ginger tom, scrambling around for someplace to hide but it seemed Gorsefeather had already discovered them. Dawnkit froze, her body trembling. She didn't want to get in trouble, she hated getting yelled at she was very sensitive on what people had thought about her. And there was a throbbing pain at the back of her head to make matters worse.

"Umm.. We were.. um.." Dawnkit struggled to think of an excuse, it didn't matter anyways they were pretty much busted by now. The pretty she-kit's head lowered in shame, her blue eyes pleading gosefeather not to get to mad. "Sorrry!!" She wailed towards the tom, her paws shufffling. "It was all my fault Gorsefeather not Emberkit's" She mewed towards the calico.

"Dawnkit, I'm so sorry," he said with regret and sorrow in his voice. "I didn't mean to..." it was too late for apologies, Gorsefeather had walked in. He watched in horror as Dawnkit took the blame. He looked around at the mess. C'mon, Emberkit! There has got to be a way out of this, He thought, panicked. The only way he knew was to tell the truth...or was it? He thought up the perfect lie in his head; a queen sent the two kits to ask the medicine cat for moss, but they saw he wasn't there and were about to leave before the herbs accidentally got knocked down. Emberkit couldn't lie...he had to tell the truth. "Gorsefeather, please forgive us. We shouldn't of been in here, but we snuck in. We were curious of the herbs, but we shouldn't of came in. We are so sorry, we will clean up the mess and help you collect new herbs if you want. We will clean the elders den, anything to show our sorrow. We accept any punishment you give us." he sat down, ears and whiskers drooped. He curled his tails over his paws and turned his gaze to the floor. "And it's not all Dawnkit's fault, it was my fault also."
