Taking Back Skyclan [Deathly Shades Plot]

After he had gathered all of the warriors and apprentices he thought that he needed, Thrushstar looked across into Skyclan territory. The rocky terrain was awkward but it was manageable, especially since he'd been here more times than he could really remember before Skyclan came back. There were still times he wished that he hadn't come to this territory, but that was a different story that he was trying to forget. Looking back at this warriors, he flicked his tail for them to move forward as he padded into the territory to hold up his end of the bargain. While Shadowclan got herbs, they had to fight off the badgers and foxes that had made their homes here. It was a dangerous mission, but the Shadowclan leader said he would do it.

"Remember," he started. "We are here to get rid of these terrible creatures. This is the only way we can get the herbs we need to treat our sick. They're helping us, so we need to help them. Just be extremely careful. Foxes and badgers fight to kill and will not hesitate to do so, especially when their home is being invaded. Watch your tails and watch your clan-mates' tails." Taking a deep breath, he trotted farther into the territory that was full of the smells of the pines up above and the faint trails of a badger. It was the first one he'd come across yet and they were barely in the territory.

Blizzardsky listened intently to his father, giving a solemn nod. Their Clan desperately needed herbs, he knew. Many of their cats were sick with greencough. He wasn't surprised to find that he had a minor case of whitecough, but his body was handling it well. He couldn't speak for the elders and kits, however. He continued to follow Thrushstar beyond the borders of SkyClan. It felt odd. The hard, solid earth seemed unnatural in comparison to the soft, sliding soil back in ShadowClan territory. However, the black and white tomcat continued on past the Highpine.

Pine needles stabbed at his pawpads, and he showed his displeasure with the bunching of his whiskers. The stench of foxes and badgers was powerful. It would be hard to discern where the creatures were. "I hope this won't take too long," he hissed to no one in general. Blizzardsky wasn't going to get comfortable any time soon.

Jayclaws ears perked as his eyes shot towards Thrushstar, after listening to his instructions the warrior gave a solem nod, his blue eyes full of determination. Too help skyclan get rid of the foxes and badgers. It was a dangerous task, badgers and foxes had to be handled as soon as someone smelt their trails, it was skyclans mistake on letting them stay. Skyclans territory was different, and unique at the same time. Jayclaw had liked the scent of the fresh pine cones, it was relaxing and peaceful.

The grey tom trailed after Blizzardsky, Thrushstars son. Sliently observing him, so far he seemed hostile and unfriendly and the comment he quietly made was not very mature of him as a warrior. If he was trying to make impressions to his clan-mates he wasn't doing a great job at all. Shadowclans patrol had barely even touched Skyclans territory and yet Jayclaw was already getting the scent of a badger that had passed by.

Mouseclaw padded at the end of the group, branches and pine needles slapping at his face and tearing at his pelt. Urg! I can't wait untill we destroy these stupid flea-bags! Hopefully I'm not getting dragged all the way to Skyclan's territory for nothing! We better not get killed by some stupid badgers! He unsheathed his claws and dug them into the ground. He pricked his ears up and stayed alert, ready to rip someone's eyes out. Though he was small, he was quick and clever and had a short temper.

Fennelcloud padded up behind the other warriors, taking a good look around. It was strange being in a different territory. She'd never really crossed the borders other than to go to Fourtrees so this was a brand new experience for her. Looking around at the tall trees and the scarce brush that barely littered the ground, she had no idea how Skyclan cats could live here like they did. There was nothing to hide in and there was no way that it was possible to climb so high so easily. Walking up to where she comfortable stood between Blizzardsky and Jayclaw, she looked at the two toms with a slightly worried look. She'd never seen a badger before or a fox for that matter. Sure they were common, but being in the marsh, they weren't really a threat since there was no way they could make their homes there. However, it was far different here. Turning towards her brother, she sighed warily. "Me too... I hope they're easy to get rid of, at least. Maybe this won't be as hard as we think."

OOC: If Skyclan wants to join us at all, that'd be great~ if not, then the rest of Shadowclan needs to post.

Wolfpaw followed behind her mentor, Blizzardsky, hesitantly with fear, this was the first time she'd left Shadowclan Territory. She'd scented other clans before from the border on patrols, but that was the extent to which she'd interacted with other clans. The unfamiliar territory was frightening for her, one of the youngest here, she felt miles behind her clanmates in experience to the point she wondered what she was doing here. But she tried her best to stand strong, not wanting to shame her clan.

"Do we know how many badgers there are?" She spoke quietly to the nearest warrior, voice steady to hide her tension and fear.

Blizzardsky stopped, staring off into the territory. Where would they begin? It would be almost impossible to track down anything with the scents mixed like it was. He noticed Jayclaw eyeing him. The look plastered on his face didn't show signs of being positive. Fur bristling with embarrassment, he turned to him and opened his mouth to speak. However, he was cut short by his sister stepping between them, seeming rather worried. He wondered if she was worried by the looks they were giving or by the fact that they were about to hunt for badgers and foxes. Either way, Blizzardsky nodded at his sister, doubting that it'd be easy to fight the large creatures. He was quite apprehensive as well.

The black and white tom heard his apprentice speaking behind him. However, he believed that she was ready to accompany them on this task. It would be a good experience for her, anyway. "I don't know. I wouldn't worry though. We have a lot of strong cats with us," he stated to both Wolfpaw and Fennelcloud.

ShadowWhisper followed Thrushstar, her former mentor, into the rocky SkyClan territory. The terrain was quite uncomfortable, but wasn’t overbearing. The territory was very unfamiliar to her, but yet she didn’t feel itchiness in her paws. It was as if she wasn’t in another clan’s territory. The senior warrior looked back at the other ShadowClan warriors to see their expressions. She wasn’t sure how they felt about battling foxes and badgers, but didn’t really ask either. The she cat looked ahead and thoughts ran around her mind. The thought of fighting such vicious creatures made her nervous to the bones, but her clan needed the herbs to help her sick clanmates who are suffering. She would risk her life to support them and make the clan stronger—it was part of her duty as a senior warrior. Shadow blew her fur away from her face as she continued to walk deeper into the territory with the patrol.

OOC: okay... I guess Skyclan doesn't want to participate. Fair enough. CONTINUING. Also, since there are supposed to be several of badgers/foxes, don't worry about the battle system. With so many cats, it should be kind of easy to get rid of them. Obviously try to keep it a bit realistic, though. I also apologize in advance for the terrible roleplaying. I suck at playing badgers.

Looking at his clan mates, Thrushstar tried to give them a look of confidence. They could do it. There shouldn't be too many foxes and badgers around here, although he was somewhat hoping that Skyclan could help them out a little. It was their territory, after all. No matter. "Let's keep moving. Follow me and stay close," he said, moving deeper into the territory, following the scent of the badger he found. It was definitely close, and he was surprised to see just how close to the border it was. It barely took any time at all to find the hole in which the creature dug for its home. The scent coming from inside was almost unbearably strong. Unsheathing his claws, the Shadowclan leader prepared for a battle.

As soon as the cats reached the hole, it didn't take long for a low growl to emit from the hole in the ground. Almost instantly, the badger lumbered out, almost howling as it slashed around, trying to reach the first cat it could find. Lashing out, the first cat it seemed to hit just happened to be Fennelcloud as she got too close to the animal's home. Its claws raking down her side, the she-cat let out a yowl of pain as she was hit off of her paws and pushed backward about a fox-length. When she was finally able to get back up, she looked up at the huge animal in shock as pain shot through her side and blood began dripping through her fur.

"Attack!" Thrushstar yowled as he leaped onto the badger, his claws digging to the creature's back as it howled from the pain, lashing out at the other cats close by.

(OOC: I have Fawnspirit, she's SkyClan)

IC: Scarletfrost darted in and out, landing quick blows and leaping back again, dodging the badger's large paws. The fourth or fifth time, she was too slow, and he badger''s claws clipped her shoulder, sending her sprawling into a SkyClan warrior that had just came to the scene.
"Sorry!" she exclaimed when the got back to her feet.

Fawnspirit was racing towards the scene of the battle, hoping some fellow warriors from her own clan were in close pursuit to help. She reached the scene when suddenly a ShadowClan warrior is sent sprawling into her. The warrior apologizes before turning to go back into battle.

Mouseclaw hissed as he launched himself onto the badger's back, raking and biting as hard as he could. He didn't care if he got hurt, he would just fight ten times harder. The badger twisted around and bit at Mouseclaw. The tabby tom moved his paw out of he way just in time. Any second later, and the badger would've broken his leg. It wasn't long before Mouseclaw was thrown off. This time, he lunged at the legs of the beast, to break them, like the badger tried to do to him. He got kicked and clawed, being sent flying backwards, but he continued to get up and fight. He was bleeding all over and his fur was mangled.
