"Yes! Of course!" Shades said. She always had a soft spot for kittens. Her sister had two, even though she adopted one. She smiled kindly at Mist, "Hello Mist, I'm Shades. I won't hurt you, I promise."

Drift gave off a sigh of relief. "Thanks," he purred.

Mist looked at her father before looking back at Shades. She smiled a little at her before Drift moved his tail away from her. Mist cautiously padded over to Shades. "Hello," she said quietly. She had never spoken to anyone before besides to her mother, father, and sisters.

She smiled at the kit, "hello little one." She said, then looked over at Mufasa. 'He let a kit join?' She thought, slightly worried for Mists safety here.

Mist looked over Shades, memorizing every spot on her pelt and the shape of her body. She took a deep breath to memorize her scent. "I'm Mist," She said. 

Drift smiled as he watched his kit. She is so beautiful...she reminds me of Shimmerlight. He felt an ache in his chest when he remembered Shimmerlight.

Shades watched as the kit examined her, then murmured, "As you already know, I'm Shades."  She bent down to nuzzle the kit gently, hoping she wouldn't mind, as she breathed in the scent, she realized there was a faint clan scent on Mist, but Shades didn't mind. She looked over ar Aloe, "Do you know where Riptide is?" She asked as casually as she could. She was dying to ask Aloe why he stole the squirrel, because she had watched him do it out of the corner of her eye. She glanced back at Mist, then at Mufasa. There was so many questions she wanted to ask yet she knew she couldn't, so she stuck with the one that would get her in less trouble.
