Snowkit's Outing (Monarchwing/Open)

Snowkit bounded out of the nursery and out into the camp. Her small, fluffy white head shot up and she slowly sniffed the air. She could smell a multitude of scents, each one distinct and different, but she couldn't tell where they came from. She tentatively padded forward, treading on white snow as fluffy as she was. Snowkit decided that it was safe and she leaped around, trying to find something to do. She rolled around in the snow, licked a few flakes, and started to dig a little trench in the snow. she curled up in a ball in her trench and peered up at the bleak, gray sky. Snowkit began to let her thoughts wander. Suddenly she perked her ears. She heard the crunch of snow, and someone called out to her from a few feet away. She bolted upright and saw someone standing at the opening of the nursery.

A golden tabby she cat with black tabby stripes and white chest muzzle and tail tip stood at the nursery entrance. Monarch had called to Snowkit, her adopted daughter. Monarchwing's blue eyes sparkled a bit as she saw Snowkit and padded to the little white she kit the snow crunching under her paws.

As soon as she saw her mother, Snowkit's expression lit up. She bounded around Monarchwing's paws and playfully nipped her tail. "Mama, it's not time to go inside yet, is it? Can't you play with me? Teach me a game! Tell me a story!" Snowkit's mismatched blue and amber eyes glittered and danced in excitement. She loved it when her mother had time to play with her, since she knew she was yet a small kit and could learn much from her mother.

Monarchwing purred watching Snowkit"no its not time to go in"She mewed smiling."and of course we can play"She mewed purring .

Her mother's kind words brought on a fit of excited mewing and pouncing. Such a simple pleasure as playing with her mother began a feeling of insurmountable joy to such a young, curious kit like Snowkit. Snowkit paused a moment to lick her fluffy white paws and then proceeded into an endless amount of chatter. "What do you want to play? I don't know any games but you know some, don't you? Of course you would know of a game, you know everything, 'cause you're a warrior. I want to be a warrior someday. Do you really know everything, Mama?" Snowkit's eyes glinted with curiosity, and her paws did a little dance of excitement while awaiting her mother's response.

Monarchwing purred at her daughter excited chatter."no though i'm a warrior a don't know everything the leader and Starclan would know more then me"She mewed with a purr.She smiled some and flicked her tail thinking"hmm lets see"She mewed thinking of a game she used to play as a kit.

Snowkit's ears flicked at her mother's answer. She understood that no cat could possibly know everything, and now that she understood this she was kind of embarrassed by her question. Snowkit sighed. She could never manage to keep her mouth shut! But she perked up again quickly. "So what's the game? I've heard of a few games called 'tag' or 'hide and seek' but I don't know how to play them or what they are..." Snowkit trailed off, her mind wandering. Then she plopped down on the ground, rolled onto her belly, and lay, paws up in the air, gazing at the sky, and waiting for her mother to reply.

Monarchwing smiled"well we can play hide and seek .."She mewed purring"how we play is one cat hides while the other goes to look for the cat hiding"Monarchwing mewed.

Snowkit was bursting with excitement. "Cool!," she said. She looked around the camp. "I'll hide first." Snowkit padded over to the nursery. She found a bushy place behind it and crouched down, digging so she melted into the snow, and her fluffy, long white pelt blended in with the snow.
