Maplepaw's Warrior Ceremony

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!" Silverstorm called, lashing his tail from the top of the jagged rock in the center of camp. It was past time for another apprentice to complete their training.

Rainpaw yawned and stretched her forelegs, flexing her claws. Opening one blue eye, she smiled and leaped to her feet. "A meeting!" she mewed happily. Running to the center of camp, she settled herself down and looked around.

Maplepaw opened a single eye from his perch on his favorite branch. A small hope sparked. I wonder, is it my ceremony? Leaping down, he held back a wince as his almost healed paw, badly mangled during the recent fox attack, touched the ground. It wasn't very noticeable, except for the pale pink scars decorating his paw pads. The brown tuxedo's tail was held high as he stared up at his deputy, curious and hopeful.

"Maplepaw, come forward." Silverstorm raised his head. "I, Silverstorm, deputy of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Maplepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

With his head raised, the near warrior smiled. Maplepaw could been his own heart beating. Feel the faint breeze whispering across his smooth fur. "I do."

Silverstorm nodded, purring. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Maplepaw, from this moment you will be known as Maplecloud. StarClan honors your compassion and loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SkyClan."
