Windy Dream

Snowpaw padded slowly to the Sunningrocks. Strong winds push her fur as she stopped to look at the ThunderClan area. They didn't stop until she fell on her side. The apprentice stayed on the ground and breathed countless times. A lot was on her mind and the stuff just wouldn't go away. She tried to get up but the strong wind pushed her back down as it pushed her side. "I can't do it!" The apprentice cried as she threw herself down when she got up. When she fell down, she was devoured by her dreams.

"Snowkit! Snowkit!" The small kit turned her head and saw a red figure running towards her. It was a little bigger than she was. She tilted her head. Scarletkit? Her thoughts were interrupted by a loud yowl. "Get out of here!" The red Bengal cat yowled and pushed the silver Bengal patterned kit away. "Get out of here before you get--" Scarletkit stopped talking when she saw a large white tom behind Snowkit. He hissed, "Why are you here?" He didn't wait for Snowkit to reply and took her away. "Leave me here! Scarletkit is my kin!" As much as she fought, the white tom didn't let go and he kept doing. She was being separated from her kin! Snowkit turned her head and Scarletkit was gone.  

Snowpaw quickly got up on her feet and her fur bristled. She clawed the ground and she jumped up at the sound of thunder. Soon after, rain fell on her like spilled bucket of water. She thought about her dream again and quickly laid down. Tears ran down her face as she covered it. So that's why she felt so awkward seeing Scarletpaw. She is her kin. "Scarletpaw," she whispered quietly.

Shallowlake trotted out of camp, hoping for a walk. Looking around, he noticed a sobbing bundle of silver and white fur that was Snowpaw. He rushed toward her and sat down next to the cat. "Snowpaw! What's wrong?" he meowed urgently.

Snowpaw turned her head to look at Shallowlake. "I was separated," the apprentice sniffed. "from my sister." She quickly wiped her eyes and sat up. "Do you remember the cat we talked to on the other side of the gorge? I dreamed that I was separated from her." She looked down at her paws and more tears came out of her eyes.

Shallowlake thought for a minute. "Scarletpaw, right?" he asked quietly, not wanting to send the cat into tears.

"Yes, yes her." Snowpaw said and slowly blinked her eyes. Tears were still coming out, but not as much. She looked at Shallowlake. She was very glad to have him around. He is her closest friend of all friends. She didn't know how she would survive in this clan without being so distant without him. If she had lost him, she would be just as sad as she is now. To her, he was like a brother.

Shallowlake nodded, relieved that her tears were slowly drying up. He smiled. "Everything will be okay!" He comforted.

"Okay." Snowpaw scooted next to her friend to gain more comfort. "Will you come with me to talk to her if you come to the gathering?" She looked up at him. Her eyes had a little pleading in them. She didn't know if she wanted to do this alone.

The tabby tom's smile grew a bit bigger. "Sure." He replied, settling down and watching the stars.

Snowpaw nodded her head and smiled. "Thank you, Shallowlake. You are truly a good friend. My best friend." She laid her head down on her paws. She looked up at the stars and smiled. An image of two cats playing together shined in her eyes. Scarletpaw and Snowpaw-- siblings.
