Snake Attack! [CLAN EVENT]

These adders have been growing long and fat off of ThunderClan's prey, and just yesterday, one tried to get into the nursery to make a meal out of a kit!

It's time to clean out the snake nest. Don't let them bite you!

Alright, ThunderClan!

No need for battle system, but we can use it if you want.

Ready, set, go!

Duckpaw gulped, what now? He was supposed to clean out the snake den, so how? With a gulp he saw a snake. With a hoss of fury he swiped its life out, one down how many to go?

"Duckpaw, be careful!" Breezefeather called as she bounded up to the apprentice. "These things are fast, but easy to kill. Try not to get infront of them and be alert all the time." The calico warrior instructed before slinking around the side of a long serpent and pouncing on it, sinking her fangs into its neck. Another one tried to avenge its nest-mate and struck out at the warrior. Breezefeather flattened her ears and lashed out a paw at it's head, dazing it for a while before she landed another blow, flattening it to the ground and killing it.

Why was she here? Oh, right, because she was still a warrior apprentice. There was a soft hiss from Morningpaw as she stood around the clearing, her ears alert as she tried to find one of the snakes. Why couldn't Nightfire had made her his apprentice yet? she had worked hard at gathering herbs for him and to help him when she could, but she feared that if he didn't make her his apprentice soon enough, she would become a warrior and be stuck with it! She didn't even want to fight!

Speaking of fighting, she saw a slight movement behind a rock though the corner of her eyes. She crouched down, gently drawing herself forward as she kept on alert for any sudden movement from behind the rock. Once she had reached it, she unsleathed her claws and jumped quickly to the side to look behind the rock, seeing a snake who stared at her and hissed. However, before the snake could even attempt to lunge at her, she slashed out with her claws, quickly killing it. She huffed as she stood up, looking around for more snakes. Wait...What had she been thinking about few moments before? Oh well, she was sure that train of thought would come back to her.

Maplebloom crouched down, alert. A snake jutted out from a rock. She pounced and dug her claws into it's neck without getting bit. She smirked and started to kill more snakes.

Goldenrose nervously crouched down, jumping at every sound. "Maplebloom, are you sure this is safe?" She asked.

"No, of course not," Maplebloom replied as she killed another snake.

Goldenrose screamed as a snake came out from a rock. She swiped at it with unsheathed claws, killing it before it bit her.

Palepaw's ears shot up. He had been contently dreaming about hunting a rabbit, when all of a sudden, outcries and hisses could be heard coming from somewhere else in the camp. The tom abruptly rose to his paws and scrambled out of the den, the fur on his neck jutting up in apprehension.  

Oh, StarClan.. Adders!

A couple warriors and apprentices could already be seen fighting the scaly vermin off, but it wasn't enough. With a snarl, Palepaw forgot his anxiety and leapt into the fray, claws flashing as he landed squarely on a snake's back. The snake thrashed its head around, fangs clearly visible, but it was too late. Palepaw sunk his claws into the snake and tore at it until it stopped moving.

Spottedfeather slashed a snake, killing it quickly before growling lowly and going for another. Stupid snakes. Grabbing ones tail, she yanked it out of a crevice and killed it. She went for another.

Duckpaw looked over at the cat who spoke, managing a smile. "I will b-" he was cut of as an adder went for him. He hissed at the sudden shown and unsheathed his claws. Duckpaw pounced digging his claws into it. It's hissing came to a stop as he turned to face another.

An annoyed hiss came from a ginger cat across the rocks. A sneaky adder had attempted to catch him off guard and bite his rump. Spinning around, he smashed his paw down in the brown serpent and bit the base of it's skull. Waiting until he could see blood trickle out of it's mouth, he noticed a dark hole where many snakes were fleeing into. With a hunch, Foxfang discovered a literal nest- with baby snakes included. Hoping to have caught them off guard, he began to pick them off one by one, eventually finding his way inside.

Breezefeather, who had ended up surrounded by adders, was crouching low in the middle of the circle. Her hind leg was still hurting, but she knew she had to make the jump. Adders were closing in on her, and with a sharp intake of breath she leaped. Pain flooded her mind and leg as she glided through the air for only a heartbeat. The calico warrior had cleared the circle or serpents, but where she landed was another adder facing her with mouth gaping and fangs dripping. Breezefeather was focused on the snake in front of her that she had forgotten all about the circle she had just leaped out of, and the shock of long sharp fangs sinking into her hind leg took her breath away. She knew she had to stay calm, otherwise her heartbeat would quicken and pump the poisoned blood around the body faster but the venom only needed a few minutes to kick in, and the long furred warrior began to feel dizzy. Breezefeather's legs wobbled and she collapsed in a bleeding heap on the floor, everything turning black as the venom worked it's way to her heart which was slowing down.

Duckpaw was killing more snakes then he had ever seen. But he saw Breezefeather in trouble with more, "Mangy scaley flea bags!" He yowled clawing at them. Then he saw the warrior fall. "Breezefeather!" his me was one of shock. He ran through the snakes not caring if you bit him. "Wake up.." His voice was just above a whisper, first Lightningpaw and his injuries and now her? His mind raced as he grabbed her scruff tugging only to learn that he couldn't.

Maplebloom was working along side Goldenrose, killing every snake she saw. Soon, something moved in the corner of her eye. She shot her head over, but it was to late. The snake bit Goldenrose's leg. Maplebloom pounced as the golden she-cat cried out. The tabby quickly killed the adder, while Goldenrose fell to the ground. "Goldenrose! Someone get help!"

Foxfang had somehow managed to clear out the nest just in time to hear the muffled cries of his clanmates. Backing out with alarm, his ginger fur ended up ruffled and filled with dirt. Once he was free, his grey eyes landed on multiple cats who had been bitten. Shock was quickly replaced with anger as he killed the adders on his path to the closest warrior, Breezefeather. Taking the collapsed warrior by the scruff, he growled through her fur to Duckpaw.

"She'll be fine! Now, stop just standing there and fight before you're bitten!" His short tail lashed and bristled to cover his uncertainty. He had heard the adder's venom could be lethal, and it worked fast.

As Foxfang approached Duckpaw dropped his grip on the warrior and answered, "I will kill these adders!" He vowed to himself though he was scared, what would happen if he was to be bitten? Duckpaw shook his head then swirled around as another adder came up. He sliced through it the blood on his paws made him queasy but he pushed it past. I have to do this, so he went forth killing the adders.
