The Forbidden Relationship

Coalheart looked around from her spot in the bushes. She got up and padded toward the river, being careful not to bump her belly, which was slightly rounded with her and a RiverClan cat's kits. "Minnowflash!" she called softly, hoping there wasn't a patrol around to hear her. The warrior looked down at her belly, and sighed happily. "Oh, my little ones!" she purred quietly, and licked her tummy gently. Coalheart gasped and looked up when she heard paw steps on the other side of the river. She backed away and hid in the bushes. The she-cat heard splashing, and then paws hitting land. The RiverClan cat crossed the border! I hope the cat doesn't find me!

"Coalheart?" Minnowflash whispered as he approached the RiverClan side of the river. "Coalheart?" He called once more.

Coalheart crawled out of the bushes. "Oh, hi Minnowflash!" the she-cat called. She trotted closer to the river and sat down. Looking at her paws, she smiled just a little bit. "I have some news," she meowed, looking back up at her mate.

Coalheart emerged from the bush and sat at the river. Something looks different....wait... Minnowflash crossed the peaceful stretch of water to reach his mate and rub her cheek with his in greeting. "You're...pregnant!" The warrior purred as he stared wide-eyed at her belly. "That's wonderful!"

Coalheart purred and smiled. "Great news, isn't it?" she purred. She started to get up, when one of the kits gave a little kick. She gasped and sat back down.

As Coalheart gasped and returned to sitting on her haunches, Minnowflash immediately came to her side. "What's wrong? Are you ok?" He furrowed his brow.

Coalheart smiled and settled into a more comfortable sitting position. "I'm okay, Minnowflash. One of the kits kicked." she meowed.

She smiled. "Not for a while, I think " Coalheart meowed. She looked out at the river and gasped. This time, pain rippled through her belly.

As his mate began to go into labour, Minnowflash widened his azure blue eyes which were rippling with worry. The experienced warrior did not know what to do except fetch her a stick to bite on. "Uhh, what do I do?" He looked like an idiot, rushing around unsure of what to do, scared that anything he did would disturb the process.

Doing what his mate asked, Minnowflash dashed to the river bed where he found a long stick. He picked this up and returned to his mate. "Here." The warrior said as he placed it at her paws.

Coalheart took the stick in her mouth and bit hard. She was surprised it didn't break. After a while, a kit was born. The new queen began licking its fur the wrong way, and soon had the kit at her belly.
