Swiftnose's Elder Ceremony

It was just another day in camp, and just another Clan meeting called by Dewstar. It was a normal day to everyone- except for one cat. Swiftnose padded from the Medicine Cat den and sat closer to Highrock than usual. While he wasn't nearly as old as Mallowroot, who was old even when Swiftnose was just an apprentice, he was the age of your average senior warrior. He trusted Nightfire completely with the duties of medicine cat, and Swiftnose wasn't really needed anymore. Should Nightfire need help, then Swiftnose would always be there for him in the elders' den. Well, maybe not always...

"Swiftnose," Dewstar began, looking down at her old friend with a slight look of fondness. "is it your wish to give up the title of medicine cat and retire to the elders' den?"

"It is." He answered with his usual relaxed and kind voice, a polar opposite of Dewstar's strong and harsh meow.

"ThunderClan deeply honors you and all the service you have given to us. I call upon StarClan to give you many moons of rest, and may you enjoy them."

Swiftnose, now an elder, dipped his head gratefully to his leader. "Now Rainspot won't be so alone. He mumbled to himself, smiling like he had said something witty.
