It was a beautiful day, as far as Asterkit could tell. Sure, she only had the experience within the Camp to judge from, but as it was the only world the kit had ever known, she had learned a fair amount of knowledge from what she could see, after all. From the entrance of the Nursery, she could tell that the Newleaf air was fresh and clean - full of lots of interesting smells that tickled her nose in a very pleasant way.
Cautiously, she stepped out of the entrance, feeling rather giddy as she was testing these boundaries without any real permission. She was safe inside camp, though. Plenty of big, friendly warriors around to make sure she wasn't scooped up by - by, well...bad things. Asterkit wasn't quite sure what those bad things were, but her mother was always warning her about danger, so there had to be something. She was barely a tail length out of the Nursery when something skittered into her path, causing her to squeak in distress and flop back onto her rear, eye wide with curiosity and a little bit of fear.
"Didja see that?" She squawked to no one in particular, finding her voice. "See that? That was giant - what was that?" She asked, hopping back onto her clumsy paws. It was a strange green color, whatever it was, and drifted across the ground like the specks she sometimes saw in the sky. Maybe they were the same - she'd never seen whatever they were up close before.
