Pulling a Silverstream

Whinchatwing padded along the cool camps grounds, the warmth of new-leaf warming her face and obscene face and torn ear. Stretching, the she-cat heard bones crack and felt muscles and tendons pull as she did so. Looking from one side of camp to the other she paced, tailing flicking in increasing agitation, her eye narrowed as the glare of the sun got in her view. Giving her skull a shake the she-cat finished with her pacing and sat by the shadows of the camp, shifting uncomfortably on occasion as she just sat there.

The she-cat never found love, or anyone within the clan, hardly ever spoke, almost never looked at any of them, except for maybe that kit, or those cats from Shadowclan, she felt so guilty for threatening them, but she never wished to hurt them, especially not kits! At least she lost her collar, that was the only good thing that came out of that!

Whinchatwing muffled her sigh and laid herself down, grunting every time she felt her kittens move, she didn't think any of them really knew, her stomach was actually quiet large, and it would be amazing if no cat knew by that time.

A large convulsion racked her smaller frame as she shot up, surprise over-whelming her, she thought it'd be another moon till they were to arrive, but then again, she never told the medicine cat, or got it checked out. With a grunt she hoisted herself up, staggering as she made her way to the medicine cat den, giving a small growl in pain, calling for the medicine cats, or anyone whom is familiar, panic now over-riding her instincts, she barged into the medicine cats den, and fell to the ground, clearly confused and panicked.

Ooc: there aren't any medicine cats here only an apprentice o3o

Ic: Midnightsky rushed over to the she-cat. "W-Whats wrong!? I'll go get help!"

Whinchatwings panicked gaze lashed over to the warrior, a wheeze of air only able to escape her as she looked over towards the warrior, another spasm of pain racking her body.

The she-cat let out a small wail of pain as she naturally pushed, claws scrabbling at the ground as she forcefully heaved herself up, only to lay on the ground with a thump.

Whinchatwing pushed again, feeling as if her inner walls were tearing, and something gushing unnaturally throughout her system and down her legs, which smelled metallic. With slight relief she felt something somewhat large release and a small squeak could be heard pushing herself to look she noticed an adorable small kitten laying there, the sack clung to its pelt.

With slight relief, she breathed out, only to start up again.


The she-cat fell to the ground after what seemed to be hours of pushing. Squealing, which seemed to silence themselves as she refused to care for them, in amount of exhaustion she let herself slowly close her eye, black dots speckling her vision. The she-cat found herself feeling strangely calm, a calm she never thought she'd feel. Awakening, she found herself, not in Riverclan's medicine cat den, but the reed covered grounds of Starclan.

Midnightsky tried desperately to find someone that knows how to give birth but he found no one, so he decided to go back to the medicine cat den to help in anyway he can, but when he got there he was already too late, he saw two tiny kits next to the she-cat. He bent down and licked the two kits clean.

The tortoiseshell tom kit squeaked as Midnightsky licked his pelt clean, before wriggling away towards his mother to try and get milk. He started kneading Whinchatwing's side to try to get her to produce milk, not realising that she was dead.

"Don't worry... I'll take care of you..."

Ooc: there is only kit?

OoC: Grey has another one. There was a third but it didn't live.

Ooc: my phone is being stupid...

Ic: Midnightsky pushed the other kit closer to their mother's nipple to suckle on. "I'll... Go get Honeywhisker..."

The small she-cat squeaked as she was pushed, becoming agitated from the shove she squeaked some more, before feeling a warmth next to her, she blindly dragged herself to the nipple of her mother, kneading at her stomach, in an effort to produce milk.

Honeywhisker's eyes slowly opened as she heard all of Whinchatwing's weird noises. She had only heard those sounds once, and they were still pretty fresh in her mind. She had given birth not too long ago, she knew what it sounded like. These sounded like the mother was in more pain than usual. Hm? I better go check it out. As the noises stopped, she tried to decide if she still wanted to go see. She shrugged, and padded out of the warrior's den. All of the other warriors were in there, well, just Amberheart because there weren't many warriors. She could obviously tell that Whinchatwing, Midnightsky, and Coldpelt were gone. Oh, that's right... Coldpelt. She shook her head, she wasn't going to think about her right now. Whinchatwing hadn't gone into the nursery for any coming kits, and she knew Midnightsky couldn't get kitsor can he?. Maybe the medicine cats could shed some light on what was happening. She continued to the medicine cat's den, and stopped as she heard suckling and her name. She looked in and asked "Get me for wh-" she was cut off as she saw Whinchatwing's dead body on the floor, and the kits trying to get the milk. "W-W-What happened?!" Well, that was pretty obvious. There were kits on the floor, a dead mother, and blood on the floor. She didn't see any claw marks, so she must have died giving birth to these kits. It was a sad sight really, a dead mother and her kits trying to stay alive.

"Honeywhisker..." Midnightsky mewed sadly. "The kits won't survive without a mother, and I know thisis a weird thing to ask but... Do you still have milk? Or is there a cat inside the nursery that would take the kits?"

It was a pretty weird question. It's not like she didn't have any, but it would be weird having random kits suckle on her nipple. Sure, it was weird when Ryepaw started, but he came from her womb, he was created by Midnightsky and Honeywhisker. She didn't know anything about Whinchatwing, why would she care for her kits? She thought about this for a while. No one else had milk, she was the only one so far. Riverclan did need the warriors, they were lacking in quantity. Only two apprentices, and these two kits. Their numbers were starting to get thin. "Y-Yeah... I'm pretty sure I still have some." She looked down at the kits, then, she looked at Whinchatwing. She knew that she would want these kits live. It didn't look like she had a mate, and she knew that she didn't have a mate. The only males in the clan were Midnightsky, Ryepaw, and Reedstar. If she was still living, and about to die, she was sure Whinchatwing would say something like "Please, save my kits." Then again, she didn't know who Whinchatwing was. She might have wanted them to die with her, maybe she was terrible like that? "I guess I don't mind caring for them, if that's what you mean."

"Thanks, I just don't want anyone else to die." He muttered softly. "Thank you, I mean it."
