Rainspot's Elder Ceremony

Dewstar climbed Highrock as the sun peaked at midday. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" She called as usual. However, this day's meeting would bring a different ceremony than normal.

An aging cat walked out of the warrior's den for what would probably the last time in her life, for today she would become an elder. Hidden in her grey fur, shining silver hairs decorated her muzzle, well hidden among their similarly colored brethren. Though she hated to admit it, and tried her best to hide it, Rainspot's joints had been becoming stiffer, muscles tenser, bones weaker. It annoyed her to no end, but the she-cat had to retire, her duties would be unable to be fulfilled in due time.

Dewstar looked down at the she-cat who stepped forward farther than the rest of the Clan. "Rainspot," She began, "is it your wish to give up the name of a warrior and go to join the elders?"

After stepping forwards, the fluffy cat stared up at her leader. Brown eyes hard and sure, she meowed, "It is." Not a smile decorated her face, showing how serious she was.

She dipped her head slightly in acknowledgement to her answer. Your Clan honors you and all the service you have given to us. I call upon StarClan to give you many moons of rest." Dewstar jumped from the rock and gently touched her nose to Rainspot's, as opposed to the typical action of resting her muzzle on her head. "ThunderClan is lucky to have had as good a warrior as you, Rainspot."
