Runningpaw's practice Empty

"Oomph!"

The tom huffed out as he tumbled over. He grunted in slight annoyance as he just couldn't keep in one place as he tried to 'hunt'. Though he couldn't get it right he would not give up. With determination, Runningpaw walked over to the edge of the camp and turned aroud as he replayed the hunting lesson his mother gave him. It was simple as he imagined it but for some reason he just couldn't get the hang of it. Maybe it was just how he ran or maybe even his attack method? Hmmm... Runningpaw shook his head as he refocused. "One more time." He whispered under his breath as the apprentice crouched, he narrowed his eyes on a random pebble that seemed to stick out. The tom went to flatten his ears but raised them again, a very important detail when hunting. His tail swung slowly back and forth before he stopped it and put a sheathed paw forward. I am going to do this. Quickly, the tom darted forward as his legs went into a blur at how fast he ran. The camp was large but not as big as the moors were he could really stretch his legs. But he knew apprentices were not to venture there until they were warriors. Clearing his thoughts, reached the pebble and slammed his front paw onto it, only to have his rear end fly forward ahead of him as he tumbled over. It was pretty obvious he was running to fast and trying to stop in a split second but the tom just didn't get it. Runningpaw was now agitated, he didn't want to practice hunting anymore. The apprentice grunted as he forcefully slammed his bottom into the ground and rolled over with a loud groan in defeat. "What's the use of a warrior who can't even kill a Starclan's gift of prey." The apprentice said as he huffed.

Hawkflight watched her kit have much trouble, and watched as he just ran so far, he almost went past his prey. Maybe if he was in a bigger space... Padding over to Runningpaw she mewed to him "You want to go outside of camp? Run around a bit and you practice hunting if you want. You seem to want a bunch of space"

Runningpaw was about to dart off again before he hear his mother speak. His eyes trailed over to the entrance of the camp and thought about the moors as she spoke. He nodded eagerly as he started to pad over to the entrance and waited for her there. He knew if he went alone Falconstar wouldn't be very ecstatic about it. After all, warriors barely leave camp by themselves.

Hawkflight burst past her son while yelling "Catch me if you can!" and sped across the moor, of course not letting Runningpaw fall too far behind. Her powerful hind legs let her easily catch speed, but nonetheless, waited slightly to her apprentice

Runningpaw gasped slightly at the sudden pace she caught before he giggled lightly an darted after her. His back legs digging into the ground and launching himself forward was definitely helping him. He locked his eyes on his mother as he quickened his pace and attempted to catch up with her. His heart was beating fast and the cold wind was hitting his face, he really enjoyed running. The tom just kept doing it until he realized he almost caught up with his mother, with a few huffs he shoved himself forward and caught up to her, going to her side and being right beside her tail as he ran.
