WindClan Deputy Ceremony 3.0

It was nearly moonhigh when Falconstar hopped up to the Tallrock and took a quick, nervous breath.
He hadn't had one sun cycle's worth of moments as the new leader of WindClan, but he needed to choose his deputy before moonhigh, so here he was. It was a choice he had been debating for awhile now, and he hoped he had made the right choice. "All cats who are old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Tallrock for a clan meeting!" Well, it was now or never. Hopefully he would make the right choice, and hopefully his clan had accepted him as their new leader.

OoC: This is the first ceremony of the three to take place.

Hawkflight padded out of the warriors den, looking up at the new Falconstar. She still remembered Raccoonstar's body in camp, just lying there. She shook her thoughts, Falconstar was the new leader, and rightfully so. He was a great deputy, and Raccoonstar was old, she was bound to go to Starclan sooner of later. Padding underneath the Tallrock, waiting for him to name the deputy. Most likely not her for sure. She may have been a warrior for a while, but she was sure that he would choose another, even more experienced warrior.

Stormkit padded out of the nursery, curiously eyeing the new leader standing upon the Tallrock. He knew it would be the deputy ceremony, that's how things worked. A new deputy must be named before moonhigh. Walking over to the slowly forming group of cats, he sat, wrapping his tail around his paws. Today was the dawn of a new time for WindClan, and he was there to experience it. And he was glad.

Ivyfur walked from the den, her head held high as she looked up at Falconstar. She longed to be deputy, as all the warriors probably did. She thought of herself as one of the older, more experienced warriors of the clan. The warrior couldn't name any warriors older than her at the top of her mind, yet their ranks were filled well enough that worry was not needed. Her heart had trust in his decision, and she would love the position, yet as a loyal clan cat she would respect decisions made by him. One thing, was that she had been the first cat besides Falconfang to have knowledge of Raccoonstar's death, but her heart ached knowing the leader she had known for so long had finally passed to stay amungst StarClan's ranks. But the mournful night was to come, and she had done her best to give Falconstar words of hope and courage before he returned to the moonstone, a place she had gotten to see that strengthened her starred gaze for their ancestors.

As she watched him upon the Tall Rock, she could see the pain of death in his eyes. That hurt her to see the new leader so glum, but death was something that did bring down lively spirits kindled by the clan, even in leaf-bare. But StarClan blessed them in ways, such as food, and calm weather. But to make up for it, their ranks would be lost due to the series of coughs that could be recieved.

While Ravenpaw and Lavenderheart were out, Lavenderheart wanting to get some fresh air now that her other kits were becoming apprentices and to stretch - Ravenpaw going out in the blue, Snoweye had been the only one of my characters to attend the ceremony. *shot* Hearing Falconfang's call, it was too obvious - it was time to name a new deputy. To be honest, she didn't want the position all that much, there were other cats worth naming more than her. There was Bristlefur, Lavenderheart, Hawkflight... Other warriors more suited to such a position, even if some were younger than her. Actually, while she thought about it, the more and more, it made her realize one thing as she analyzed the situation - she would most likely be the one gaining the position. Falconfang was her mentor, and often, mentors that become leaders usually choose their first apprentice or one of their apprentices anyway, to become deputy. And... she was obviously one of his apprentices.

Despite her dislike to it, if she truly did become deputy, Snoweye would respect his decision and back him up to the best of her abilities - she was willing to do what it takes to help her clan, even if it was the last thing she ever did. To grow from a really timid cat to one with more confidence was a great development for her, though, fights are not always necessary. She would learn from this, and if the time comes, lead her clan to the fullest, though whether she lives that long or not was a different matter.

Bristlefur made his way out shortly after Snoweye. He calmly took a seat next to her as the rest gathered. Like the other cats, he was sure to respect his leader's choices, even if he disagreed with them. Bristlefur himself didn't honestly know if he wanted to be deputy or not. Many would love to be chosen, and others would even kill their own clan mates. Choosing the right deputy was hard work. He only hoped that Falconstar chose the right one. If he didn't, the result could become catastrophic for the clan, if Falconstar were to die with the wrong cat as deputy.

Longtail walked into the clearing softly, high hopes, basically wondering who was going to be Windclan's Deputy, oh he hoped it was him.

With the clan gathering around, Falconstar knew it was time to announce the new deputy. "I say these words before StarClan and hope they approve of my choice." He took a deep breath and continued. "The new deputy of WindClan will be Snoweye."
