As Mapleclaw finished her ranting and raving, his fury became too much to bear. How dare she speak that way?! Reedstar, without anymore doubts, craned his head down and sunk his teeth into her neck. Die. Die. Die. Die. Die. Blood sprayed up in a fountain and the bitter taste filled his mouth. That only made him clench his jaws tighter around her throat. By now the life had ebbed out of her and a crimson pool had formed around the fighting pair, yet he didn't let go right away as he reveled in the satisfaction of the kill. The traitor was dead, and his long journey had come to an end. Mapleclaw had been right. It was time for a new story, and this one would have no more mistakes.
Reedstar violently shook her corpse for good measure before casting the limp and sodden body aside, letting it fall back into the bloody puddle with a splash. It's done now. RiverClan was his once again, and a new day was dawning. The future was bright. "Somebody clean that up." he said after a long moment, padding to the base of the ancient willow tree, whose roots formed his cold and lonely den. My willow. My nest. My camp. My Clan. I've been away from all of you for too long. He looked over each cat, all of his faithful warriors. What now? Would they accept him? Yes, they have to. he thought to himself bemusedly. They see what happens to those that don't accept.
The leader figured that he had to look a mess, his white paws and muzzle soaked a dark crimson with flecks of blood all over his glossy coat of fur. It was only now that his pain caught up with him, and Reedstar visibly winced from the sting of the cuts that Mapleclaw had given him before she had went down. Parting gifts to remember her by. How considerate. It was only a shame that Mapleclaw had not been accorded nine lives; the only thing better than killing her once would be to do it again and again. StarClan always disappointed in the little things, though.
