Nightpaw's accident.

Nightpaw bounded out into the forest, his tail waving about. He didn't know why, but he was actually feeling hyper and wanting to just go out and run about. So he decided to do just that. Leaping out of the ravine, he raced away from camp, not even bothering to note where he was going. The rush of the air going by his fur and the smell of the forest swept into him. He stopped smelling and launched up a tree, using his tail to balance himself. He leaped branch to branch before decided that was enough for him. He leaped from a smaller tree before continuing to bound through the forest. Prey scattered around him, though he just ignored it.

As he bounded he charged through more bushes before feeling a change in the ground beneath him. He stopped dead in his tracks, his paws on a hard surface. He looked down at the black surface, before looking back up at a roaring sound in the distance. He smelled Shadowclan though. The border was right there, and there was roaring, he was on the Thunderpath. His fur fluffed up and his eyes went wide as a huge figure came roaring down the path. His body froze and his heart pounded as the monster came speeding towards him. He suddenly got control of his body and starting to run back towards Thunderclan territory, but it was too late.

WARNING: Gruesome, somewhat.

The monster slammed into his back legs, causing pain to shoot across his body. His tail was caught into its jaws before he heard a crunch and then felt nothing but pain up his spine. He spiraled into the grass, far from the Thunderpath. His mind swam in a murky water of nothing. He fought to keep consciousness, but the darkness pulled him under.

Nightpaws legs were broken, but not visually twisted in different ways. His tail had been ripped off from being caught up in the monster, only a tiny bit remains of it, about 1.5 inches long.

Spottedflight had been on a solitary hunting trip in the woods, as she often did when it was a nice day and the fresh-kill needed to be re-stocked. She had just caught a small squirrel and burried it when she realized how close to the Shadowclan border she was; after all, one lost track of space when hunting. She decided to do a quick border check, just for the heck of it, and that was when the scent hit her. Fresh blood. She sprinted towards the source, quickly spotting Nightpaw, tossed off to the side, having skidded far away from the path. Oh Starclan "Nightpaw! Nightpaw, can you hear me?" She padded up to the cat, sniffing at him for signs of life.

Nightpaw heard the echo of the voice of a cat. He groaned, not feeling anything. He tried to open his eyes and come back, but he just sat there, numb to the condition his body was in.

OOC: Time for camp or something like that :D

The best Nightpaw seemed to do was groan quietly. Not a good sign. "Alright, let's get you back to camp." Spottedflight mewed before she clamped down on his scruff and dragged him away from the scene.

When Spottedflight finally managed to get into camp, she pulled Nightpaw straight into the medicine den. "Swiftpaw! He got hit by a monster!" she mewed, looking around for the medicine cat. However, her mew was loud enough to be heard throughout the camp, and nearly everycat had seen her drag the apprentice in there.

It didn't take long for Mousepaw to react to Spottedflight's shout through the whole camp as the warrior tried to get to the medicine cat. Without even a second thought, she jumped up to her feet and dashed out of the apprentice's den, stopping almost instantly in her tracks as soon as she saw Spottedflight and... was that Nightpaw? A pure look of horror crossed over her face as she saw the damage that had been done to the poor apprentice. "Sp-Spottedflight, what... what happened?!" She cried.

Adderpaw glanced up as he heard Spottedflight yell. His eyes caught the visual of a limp apprentice being dragged into camp; his grouchy but close brother, Nightpaw. Eyes widening, Adderpaw leaped to his paws and shot in the apprentice den, looking for Flamepaw. "Flamepaw! You in here? Nightpaw's beat up real bad!" He hissed, then raced back outside towards the medicine den. The tom pushed through the entrance, staring at his brother in shock. His gaze shot over to Spottedflight. "What in the name of Starclan happened?!" He asked, his tone urgent and worried. His family has always been dear to him, even this party-pooper.

Flamepaw had been taking a nap in the apprentice den when Adderpaw woke him up. "Adderpaw...what?" he mewed groggily before he registered what his brother said. "Wait, what happened?!" he mewed to empty air as Adderpaw left. He sprinted out of the den, joining the crowd at the medicine den.

Spottedflight was pacing back and forth, her tail flicking in irritation. What was taking Swiftpaw so long? Soon, all the cats were asking questions. "A monster hit him; He's lucky I found him quickly," she mewed. The den started to get crowded, which irritated her more. "Someone find Swiftpaw, and someone else find Spottedfeather; The rest of you need to give Nightpaw some space."

Adderpaw nodded quickly. "I'll get Spottedfeather." He meowed, taking off towards the warriors' den. He poked his head inside, wondering if his mother was in there. "Spottedfeather, Nightpaw got hit by a monster!" He called out. What if she was out hunting? Or on patrol? No, then she probably would've seen Nightpaw herself.

The shyest of the apprentices made her way out of the warm, cozy den. her confused blue eyes noticed the cluster of cats, however, she couldn't spot any thing through the crowd. Slinking out of the den, Splotchpaw made her way cross the snowy camp and to the group, only halting once her sight rested on Nightpaw. swallowing, she examined the wounds from afar. It looked truly gruesome. What should she do? Splotchpaw didn't know a thing about herbs. Instead of saying anything, Splotchpaw walked around the group, until she spotted the apprentice's head.

Seeing that the other cats have started to panic, Splotchpaw gently laid next to the wounded apprentice's head, ignoring the warriors command, she started to mutter comforting words to Nightpaw. Doing this in hopes of giving the tom something else to focus on, instead of the searing pain.

This was much unlike what she would usually do. However, she knew that if she had been hurt like this, that she wouldn't want to think about the pain. A wave of calm took over Splotchpaw as she continued to mutter words, quietly, so that Nightpaw would have to focus on her voice to hear them. Hopefully, effectively distracting him.

Spottedfeather woke from her daze of continually patching together a recent hole in the warriors den. She snapped her head to Adderpaw, who had just given her the news to her on Nightpaw. She rushed past him and ran over to the medicine cat den. She froze, getting a peak of Nightpaws tail, and then slightly bloodied hind legs. She shook her head and rushed over to him, walking past Spottedflight. "Oh Starclan." she mewed, but looked to her apprentice, Splotchpaw, who was speaking soft words to her son. She nodded and padded to his head and started to lick and purr to his body reassuaringly, hoping Swiftpaw would come soon.

OOC: I think Sunny is gone for a little, she hasn't been on for a bit.

Ic: Adderpaw followed her back, but seeing as how the den was getting crowded, he stayed outside.

OOC: Eh, forgive my absence. I'll fill you in on it in a bit.

Ruby was woken up by the sudden commotion and backed far into the den, pressing against the wall. And then, several cats at once were trying to get in and she flattened herself as much as she could. Too many cats! Too many cats! What's going on?!

Swiftpaw, meanwhile, trotted at a leisurely pace into camp, jaws filled with fragrant herbs. He had been lucky enough to find them before the bitter cold claimed them. His head cocked at the sight of cats crowding into his den. He dropped the herbs when he reached the crowd. "Everyone make some room! Leave for one minute, and Tigertooth's gone and hurt himself..." His eyes stopped on Nightpaw's form and he trailed off. Dear StarClan, this is the most horrific thing I've seen yet! He turned to his Clanmates. "I want everyone out. Spottedfeather can stay." He paused. "So can Splotchpaw. Ruby... I need you to leave." She nodded quickly and left at a hurried pace, unsure of what was going on.

Oh thank Starclan, finally. Spottedflight twitched her tail as she stepped aside, letting Spottedfeather and Swiftpaw in. "Alright everyone, you heard him; Give them some space," she mewed, pushing her way out of the den, and taking anyone still left who wasn't supposed to be there with her. "But Ni-" "No buts." Flamepaw was pushed outside with the rest; he didn't want to leave his brother, but the warrior was being stubborn.

Adderpaw moved aside as cats began to file out. He looked in when they were all out, nodding to Swiftpaw and the others. "Take care of him. He's my brother." He murmured, then padded away.

Spotting Ruby nearby, Adderpaw decided to check up on her. "Hey, you alright? That must have surprised you." He asked, trying to comfort both Ruby as well as himself. The whole incident was still very shocking.
