Spottedpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Standing on top of the Highrock, Dewclaw yowled the call that gathered the Clan. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!"

Spottedpaw flicked her ears as Dewclaw called a meeting. Is this my ceremony? she thought instantly, knowing she was finished with her training, as much as she could tell. She padded up to the base of the Highrock and waited for the deputy to continue.

"Today we are gathered here to make an apprentice a warrior." Dewclaw turned her head to gaze upon the sky that had began to grown pink with the setting sun. "I, Dewclaw, deputy of ThunderClan and in place of Mossstar, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Spottedpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Her serious gaze turned back to the apprentice.

For once, Spottedpaw was completely still. "I do," she replied, nodding slightly.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this moment you will be known as Spottedflight. StarClan honors your agility and dedication, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." Dewclaw landed on the ground and rested her muzzle on the warrior's head. "Now you shall sit vigil, guarding the camp alone and not speaking a single word."
