Hunting! (Open)

Mossfur exited the camp and looked around. She had decided to go hunting just before leaving. She thought about all the spots for hunting before settling on the log hollow. It had many mice holed up there. they should have come out now that the weather was getting warmer. She set off at a brisk pace but as she got closer she slowed down. Being careful not to rustle any leaves to scare the mice she got into a crouch. She sniffed the air expecting to smell leaves, dirt and prey but instead smelt the scent of a cat. She got up and turned around to look for this cat. She couldn't identify him/her because he/she was still far away. But she knew it was a ThunderClan cat. She couldn't make any noise either or she would scare the prey. She decided to explore the area a bit.

Spottedpaw crept forward and followed the scent of the other Thunderclan cat. As she got closer, she noticed it was Mossfur. She quietly sped forward, barely even making the leaves swish with the wind as she moved past. She came up behind her and noticed she was about to come up on a hidden squirrel. She trotted forward and then slinked into a crouch toward the squirrel. She noticed it whip its head toward Mossfur, which was away from herself, so she shot forward and reached out her claws to grip her prey.

Mossfur heard the squeak of a squirrel and turned around to see Spottedpaw. She flicked her tail in greeting. She turned back around to see a mouse nibbling on a seed a bit farther. She crouched down but no too low to rustle the leaves. She carefully placed each pawstep to not make a sound. She was aware that the mouse would soon finish the seed and sped up. She finally came close enough and jumped out from her hiding place.
