Bristlepaw's border patrol

Bristlepaw listened to the story quietly being sure not to interrupt with his many questions. He always has questions, it doesn't make him stupid, but it makes him smarter when they are answered. Once she finished, Bristlepaw couldn't help but smile. "Stormstar sounds so heroic." The apprentice commented. Then he let a silence fell over the two as they padded along. It didn't take long before he asked the next question. "Did any of the rouges survive?"

"Yes, my father was very heroic" she smiled softly, this apprentice practically knew what to do and say. She let off a huff as she marked once more. Her gaze lingered to the apprentice once again as the question was asked. "I know some had retreated, mostly because I let the cats I had attacked live" she smiled, a slight smirk following.

Bristlepaw nodded happily, he wanted to rip some rouge's pelts like in the stories. But then again, did the rouges follow the warrior code? He nearly laughed. Of course they didn't they weren't warriors. They didn't have clans. Just a rag-tag group of cats, who followed these 'gods'. Snorting to himself, he came up with another question. His motto 'Knowledge is Power' seemed to come into play. "Do you think they might come back?"

"Not yet, I feel as if, one day they will... I bothers me every moonhigh, I can't help but ask myself that question." She answered the apprentice. Her body beginning to slope downwards.

Bristlepaw only nodded, if that day were to come, he needed to be prepared. Making a mental note to step up his training, he only semi-noticed the slope downwards. Considering the moars were very hilly, he paid no mind to the change in altitude.

"Bristlepaw, we are going into the tunnels, be cautious" She warned, her tail lashing slightly, she didn't want to admit, this was her first time going down into the tunnels, she couldn't help but feel nervous, on edge... Her heart started to pick up pace, so eerie, so dark.

Bristlepaw glanced around at his surroundings. It was dry, but he could detect a miniscule amount of moisture in the air. The light was getting dimmer and dimmer. Pretty soon, he was relying on his whiskers,ears and paws. The lack of light, not even a single drop of the sunlight he o'so loved, could be found. His whiskers brushed against the wall. His ears picking up the tiniest sound. Patcheye's paw steps that made out a rhythm if he listened. His ears also occasionally swiveled around as a gust of fresh air would give the occasional tingle his inner hear hairs. The wind wasn't strong enough to make out if he wasn't looking for it, so it didn't provide much comfort to the closed and seemingly cramped area of the tunnel.
