Thrushkit, Maplekit, and Mottlekit's Ceremony

omg more apprentices...
ahem. i mean...

The ShadowClan leader stalked out of his den and quickly leaped up onto the top of it to begin the ceremony, wanting to start just as the sun was finishing setting. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Jagged Rock for a clan meeting!" He yowled.

Nervous and excited, the kit bounced out of the nursery, exchanging nervous glances with her brother and keeping close to her sister. Could this be? Could today finally be the day she became an apprentice? Flicking her tail with anticipation, Mottlekit waited to hear what this was all about.

Ooc: you don't have to do this right now x3 I know how it feels to be drowned by apprentices.

Thrushkit couldn't contain his excitement. He padded out if the nursery with a bounce in his step as he tried to pick a good spot for the ceremony. The only problem is that he had no idea where he was supposed to sit. Suddenly hit with anxiousness, he paused to wait on his sisters before he sat down, hoping that they would know where to go.

Gingerheart padded out of the nursery as well, stretching out her legs in relief. She was so happy that her little babies were growing up. She could get back to warrior duties! /shot. She had seen them all the way through their kithood, and now they were already training to become warriors. It seemed like only yesterday that she had seen them as newborns. Quickly, she took her seat under the rock, beaming at her little darlings.

Maplekit strutted out of the nursery with her nose held high in the air, and her tail swishing from side to side. She strode up right next to her siblings, sitting down elegantly next to them. Slowly, she licked her chest fur once more and glanced around like she was bored from cat to cat.

"Today, three of our younger clanmates have reached the age of six moons and its time for them to be apprenticed." Sagestar meowed, "Maplekit, Mottlekit, and Thrushkit; would you three please come forward?"

Nightpaw; who had totally been there the whole time, grinned from her spot near the apprentice den. She always liked watching the young kits become apprentices; and while the den was getting a bit crowded, she was almost old enough to be a warrior so she would be moving on soon. She watched Thushkit, Maplekit, and Mottlekit with interest, wondering who would get what mentor. She figured at least one of them were going to Sagestar due to the lack of warriors, but yet she found her fur pricking in excitement as she waited for them to get their names.

Shadekit padded out of the nursery and gazed at the Jagged Rock where Sagestar stop. I wish I was becoming an apprentice today, she thought sadly. She watched as Sagestar began announcing the meeting.

Fur prickling with excitement, eyes wide with fear, and little tail flicking with nerves Mottlekit was a bundle of mized emotion. Her name. She just heard her name. Hers, well hers and her siblings but that was beside the point. Jumping up and literally flying up to her leader she shared an excited look with her siblings. It was today and it was her moment. She was no longer a kit. Today sparked the beginning of a long journey to greatness (or so she hoped). Her mind was everywhere, who would be her mentor? Where would she sleep? What about her mother, what would her mother do now? Would her siblings be so much better than her? Would she amount to anything? While today was the beggining, in many ways it was the end. The end of her kittish ways, the end of long days lolling around in the clearing. Yes, today she was to become an apprentice. A thought magical enough to make anyone nervous, excited, and anxious.

The leader noticed Shadekit sitting by the nursery den, but said nothing. He hadn't forgotten about her, nor Jaykit either. Their time would come, but today wasn't their day.

"Thrushkit," Sagestar started, glancing down at the oldest of the three. "From this moment on until you have received your warrior name, you will be known as Thrushpaw. Cedarfur will be your mentor." He glanced back and forth between the two toms. The similarities were uncanny.

He turned to the next kit in line, "Mottlekit, from this moment on you will be known as Mottlepaw. Gingerheart will be your mentor." Yes, he knew that she wasn't the motherly type and giving her her own kit as an apprentice wasn't an idea that Sagestar was fond of, but they were short on warriors - and the gray tabby knew Gingerheart would certainly be a better mentor than a mother; just as she was more valuable as a warrior than a queen.

And lastly, his gaze landed on Maplekit. "From this moment on, until you have received your warrior name, you will be known as Maplepaw. I will mentor you myself." The tom leaped off the Jagged Rock and greeted his newest apprentice, touching her nose gently.

The new Thrushpaw glanced towards his father and couldn't help but beam. He was so proud to have Cedarfur mentor him and couldn't wait to start training!
