Rainkit's apprentice Ceremony

Raccoonstar climbed to the top of tall rock on a bright sunny day, and looked out to her camp. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Tallrock for a clan meeting!" She called out the familiar call.

Poking his head out of the warrior's den, Falconfang trotted out and sat down besides the Tallrock, looking up at Raccoonstar. He wondered what was going on; it was probably a ceremony of some kind, though he had been admittedly lax in remembering when ceremonies would occur for which cat. That wasn't a great thing.

Rainkit left the nursery before any of the queens, bounding out quickly so as not to get caught without an escort. After all, she was old enough now to be on her own, wasn't she? The small tabby cat padded with her head held high toward the base of the Tall Rock.

"It's time for another kit to become an apprentice," Raccoonstar announced to the clan. "Rainkit please step forward." The leader mewed looking down at Rainkit.

Rainkit stepped forward as the leader asked her to, quivering with excitement. This was it, this was finally it. She could train to become a warrior, to hunt and help her clan.

"Rainkit from this moment on you will be known as Rainpaw. Falconfang will be your mentor." Raccoonstar mewed, instead of jumping off the rock she stayed on but sat down signifying the meeting was over.

The newly named Rainpaw beamed, happy to finally be an apprentice. She approached Falconfang and glowed at him.

Falconfang was surprised that Raccoonstar chose him to mentor once more, but he was elated to be able to mentor the newly-christined Rainpaw. She was quite a skilled little kit, and her skills would be a pleasure to hone now that she was an apprentice. He moved over a bit to stand in front of her and dipped his head, giving her a big, proud smile.
