Thrushy and Maple Go on an Adventure :D

It was close to the morning when Thrushkit had decided to waltz out of the nursery. Well, waltz wasn't the word for it. He cautiously stepped out like he was going to get in trouble if he were caught. He should have been asleep, but as most kits go, he was barely tired. He didn't do a whole lot during the night and when everyone else was going to bed, he was just feeling exhilarated. Quickly glancing around the camp, he padded out as quietly as he could before making it to the fresh-kill pile and sniffing at what was there. How was he supposed to eat this? The little frog he had poked his nose into looked too big for his little mouth to chew. Is this what the warriors ate? But a sound suddenly made him jump and whirl around to see who was right behind him, his eyes wide with fear.

Maplekit stretched, standing crookedly behind her brother. A smug look crossed her face, letting her brother know he got caught. "Hello, Thrushkit." She said softly, finishing the few struts left between them quickly. "Does mother know you left the nursery? I think not." Maplekit laughed softly, her eyes gleaming in mischief, challenging Thrushkit to just say something.

"Well, no..." He told her softly, but he quickly puffed out his chest and looked at her with a quizzical look. "Does mother know you're out of the nursery?" He asked defiantly. She wasn't going to get away with trying to make him feel inferior. So yeah. He stepped up to her challenge... except he wasn't really breaking any rules by being out here, was he? It was still kind of dark out, and he was still in camp... He couldn't think of any reason why he would be in trouble. Unless she knew something he didn't. Uh oh...

Maplekit studied her brother's face, waiting for the perfect time. Her face twisted into one of shock. "You didn't hear?" she whispered softly, moving closer like she was going to tell him a secret. "You haven't heard of the... the... the night monster?" Her voice came out shaking-just as if she was scared.

"The... night monster?" He repeated, a little confused, but suddenly he realized that he was getting a little afraid. He had never heard of such a thing. Why would the queens tell her and not him? It didn't make sense... but it might go back to what he was saying. It was obvious she knew something he didn't. She even seemed scared! She couldn't be lying, could she? Maybe he could catch her bluff. "There's no such thing!" He squeaked in disbelief, trying to sound brave.

"Of, of course there is! [Insert elder name here] told me so!" she nodded vigorously, trying to show intense fear for the monster. "Do you want to hear about him?"

"No! Why would I want to hear about it?!" He was obviously trying to play as if he wasn't the least bit interested. He even tried the whole turning around and not facing her trick, but he couldn't help but flatten his ears a little bit and look back at her for her to continue. If this was a real threat, he wanted to know about it. That way, he could grow up and protect the clan from it! He wasn't just going to let this monster roam around his camp. No way! "What did [insertelder'snamehere] say about him?" He asked softly.
