Border Anxiety [P10]

A cool breeze ruffled against the Thunderclan border. On one side was a stretch of calm oak trees, birds singing in their branches with blissful contentment. On the other side, however, it was quiet. It had been that way ever since Skyclan crossed the border into Thunderclan, and the Deomilities took over the territory. Border patrols meant nothing to them, and at this moment, a good amount of the cats were battling with Shadowclan.
Yet, even though, cats from the rogue group stalked the border from time to time, eying the Thunderclan border. It almost seemed like they were trying to intimidate Thunderclan and drive them out just by glaring at them. And maybe it was working...
Yes, what exactly was going on in that camp?

Lionstar paced in front of the Highrock, ears flat against his head and his tail tip flicking with anxiety. The rogues were getting closer...He could feel it(Not really). The tensed air had even gotten to the leader by now, as complex thoughts swarmed through his mind like angry bees. He paused, looking up at the sky. What were the other clans up to? Thunderclan wasn't exactly "big" compared to Riverclan and Shadowclan, and the few living Skyclan members didn't help to add onto much. Being only half-way through the harshness of leaf-bare, Lionstar was afraid his clan may not be prepared if the rogues attacked.

As much as he hated to admit it, maybe they needed help. Besides, it would lift the weight of curiosity to if the rogues had attacked the other clans off his shoulders. But Riverclan was more hostile to Thunderclan than any other clan due to their bloody history with each other, despite the fact the clans seemed at peace with one another at the moment. Shadowclan wasn't so friendly earlier, and he didn't like the odd smell of crow-food coming from their territory whenever the Thunderclan cats went to patrol the Thunderpath. It only nagged his rogue-suspicions even more. Either that, or Shadowclan had some sort of disgusting sickness going through their territory. Maybe eating a lot of crowfood, due to small amounts of prey? That was beside the point.

All that left was Windclan...They were sort of "neutral" rivals with Thunderclan, and hadn't really had much interaction with them at all. Maybe he could send a patrol to check with them...?

That'd be a bit odd, though wouldn't it? Maybe he could go himself, along with Flamestar and Kestrelflight, since she is the Skyclan medicine cat? That might work...

Eager to start patrolling, Embershade padded towards Lionstar. "Lionstar? May I join a patrol?" She asked, her eyes revealing the purpose. She wanted to go on a patrol to check for those rogues. She wanted to help keep ThunderClan safe. Her eyes trained towards Lionstar, waiting for his answer.

Lionstar looked up, as if he didn't know who said that at first. "Er...Of course." He meowed, nervously looking from side-to-side.

"Great! Who else will come?" Embershade continued.

The tom looked away and paced a bit more before stopping again. "Anyone...Just pick some cats to come with you." He muttered, looking up suddenly, gaze focused now on Flamestar. "Flamestar. May I speak with you?" Lionstar asked calmly, though his previous act of pacing nervously could have shown he meant business.

Flamestar looked up. "Of course Lionstar." He meowed, anxiety flashing in his eyes as well. This was a tough time for the clans, indeed. Padding over, the firey tabby sat down in front of the golden tom. "Is it about the rogues?" He asked in a whisper.

Kestrelflight glanced up from the entrance of the medicine cat's den. A pile of herbs sat, untouched, in front of her. She sighed, looking back down.

Larchpaw looked up at her father and the Thunderclan leader on the High Rock. Her gaze was curios. But, she quickly looked away, but kept her ears alert. She went over by the medicine cats' den, and sat down in front of Kestrelflight, watching her do her work.

Silentpaw sighed as she looked around for someone to talk to. 'SkyClan is so small... It's impossible to tell if we can live at this rate.' she thought, her tail wagging. 'Maybe Kestrelflight or Larchpaw might want to talk to me...' Silentpaw wondered as she headed over to the two.

Kestrelflight glanced up, sighing. "Pesky apprentices" she murmured angrily.

"Something wrong Kestrelflight?" Silentpaw asked.

Larchpaw looked up at Kestrelflight. "I don't mean to bug you, I'm just interested in the herbs." she mewed. On her border patrol, she longed to ask if they could see their home border, she felt bugged... by something.

Lionstar nodded. "I'm thinking...The other clans must know about the rogues by now. If not, they should know soon so they can prepare. Our clans themselves aren't entirely safe, but at least we are prepared." He whispered, making sure no one else was listening.
"Since Riverclan and Shadowclan aren't our best allies, I was hoping you could accompany me, maybe along with your medicine cat, to speak with Windclan. It'll help to know if they are safe or not, as well we could maybe sort some sort of temporary peace out during this. I'm sure you agree this is no time for regular clan rivalries." He finished cooly.
