A new kit in camp

Silverkit lay staring up into the sky watching the fluffy white clouds slowly drift away. She was still very young, but she found that she could understand most things going on around her. Every morning, Silverkit would watch the warriors and apprentices go out on patrols, or bring in fresh-kill from the outside of camp. Silverkit was very fascinated by the things brought in from the outside. She has never been out of camp before and can't wait until she gets the chance. One day Silverkit had been let out of the nursery to play. Silverkit was still to shy to play with the other kits and decided to watch the apprentices practice. She watched them admiringly at the edge of the nursery, not paying attention to her litter-mates play-fighting not to far behind her.

A small apprentice not practicing in the middle of camp came up and sat down beside the kit. "You can't wait, can you? To be an apprentice." she mewed. "I acted like you when I was younger, in fact, I still do!", Nightpaw laughed softly. It wasn't like the black she to go and talk to cats, but hey, New Year's Resolutions won't fulfil themselves.

ooc: Cats don't have New Year's Resolutions. o.o They don't know what New Years is.

Ooc- I'm trying to talk more Splotchy ;-; I'm not that great at writing warrior-like posts like the rest of ..well everyone on WCC

Startled out of her thoughts, she turned to face the apprentice. "Oh yes. I can't wait till I'm old enough to become an apprentice too. But I still have a way to go..." She mewed staring at her paws.

ooc: Well, Don't try to come up with something fake, try talking about, how she feels, or what was she looking at. describe the air. c:

Ooc- Ok. I typed up a post earlier but I accidentally hit the back button >.<
Ic-" You will, soon enough." A slight mist hung about the apprentice, a mist you could call mysterious and sound muffling. If air had emotions, it would seem like it was afraid to leave the safety of Nightpaws' warm and dark fur. She smiled and meowed," You'll probably be an apprentice before LeafBare ends! Maybe a warrior in GreenLeaf." It gave her a warm feeling to believe she had made another cat even the tiniest bit happier or more confident.

ooc- Do you mean a literal mist hanging over her head?
Silverkit's eyes shone like stars "You really think so?" She asked.

Ooc- Just metaphorical
Ic- "Yeah. I'm not one to lie, aren't I?" An amused purr escaped her dark throat. "Small fish can become great. Remember that. Even if the current is too strong, they practice in safer waters for the big crossing they wish to make. In other words, never give up on things in your sights. Wow. And that was just off the top of my head.. Maybe I should listen to the words out my muzzle more. Hmm.
Ooc- How come I never think of this when someone needs a pep talk ^^'

Silverkit stared at the dark apprentice, her eyes glowing. "Oh, okay" she said determinedly and turned back to watch the apprentices practice in the clearing of the camp only to look back up at the apprentice she now greatly respected. "Thank you for the advise. I'm Silverkit by the way" she mewed now noticing that she had not introduced herself yet.

The speckled she-cat also noticed that neither of them had revealed their name and gave a quiet laugh, "It's nice to meet you Silverkit. I'm Nightpaw."

Silverkit smiled warmly at the older she "Nice to meet you Nightpaw" she greeted her.

Rainkit padded up to a kit and apprentice talking together. "Um . . . Hi?"

Stormkit had been awake the whole time. He knew at that instant he could enter into the conversation. "Hi Silverkit! I'm Stormkit" Stormkit the turned to Nightpaw and mewed. "Nightpaw! guess what? My apprentice ceremony is scheduled for today"! He shouted with pride. "I'll be an apprentice like you"! Stormkit almost bursted with exitement at that exact moment.
