Visiting Stormstar

Patchpaw padded into camp, her spotted pelt dimmed with dust from battle training and picking up fresh bedding for her dad. "I haven't really visiting dad that much' Patchpaw frowned at the though, her gaze landing on the pile of fresh-kill she trotted joyfully over, picking up a rabbit and a field mouse for herself she headed to the entrance of the leader's den. placing the fresh-kill and moss down to speak"Da- I mean Stormstar, can I come in?"

Stormstar raised his head from his nest, blinking away the tiredness in his eyes. "Hm? Oh, Patchpaw, come in!" he said, smiling when he saw his youngest daughter.

Patchpaw trotted in, but not before picking up the fresh-kill and moss "I came to help you change yyour bedding, and I got you a rabbit" she meowed, she wanted to end up like her mom and dad and she would do that while doing apprentice duties, even as a warrior!

Stormstar titled his head, smiling softly. "That is very sweet of you, Patchpaw," he said, getting to his paws. "So, how have your training going?" he paused for a second, before clearing his throat. "Have you gotten battle training yet?"

"I have, its going very well, mom showed me this one technique where you hold your opponent whilte your on them, I got mom in the grip, it was so funny" she giggled and removed the old bedding and fluffed up and dried the moss a little more. placing the rabbit right next to the new bed. "Enough about me, anything new that's going on with you?" she asked.

Stormstar shook his head as he watched Patchpaw. "Nothing important..." he said quietly, wrapping his tail around his paws. The fight with Icepaw still rang clearly in his mind, and he didn't want another of his kits to think he was crazy. He still felt like the Nightmares meant something, and he wasn't going to tell the whole Clan that he had lost about a moon worth of sleep over just some bad dreams if that was all they were...

"Ok, if you say so" she purred and padded upp to her dad and brushed up against him "Your bedding is dry and comfortble and you can eat, you need to put some weight on" she teased her dad pawing at his ears.

Stormstar smiled softly and pawed his daughter back. "What, you want me to become a RiverClan cat now?" he teased back, before playfully sticking his tongue out at Patchpaw and padding back to his nest and settled down. He grinned at the rabbit, before looking at Patchpaw. "You know...if you really want to know what is getting under my pelt you can ask, I'm just afraid you might react like Icepaw did when I told her..."

"Told her what?" she asked and sat next to her dad "Anything that bothers you I'd be glad to try to help no matter how mouse-brained it is!" she purred proudly, already feeling like she is already a warrior.

Stormstar opened his mouth for a second, before closing it. A heart beat later he tried again. "I've been having nightmares. Icepaw thinks they are just that...Nightmares, but I'm afraid they are true, or if anything, going to come real. Perhapes StarClan is trying to warn me, but they always start the same, and always end the same no matter what I try to do to change the outcome..."

"Well, Icepaw can't say its a dream or not a dream, I've dreamt but it was normally filled with lots of prey, thats a dream but if its a nightmare or somthing that seems very important than its more likley a sign, Icepaw has no right to say its not a sign." she pointed it licking her fathers ruffled pelt.

Stormstar nodded, before sighing. "Part of me want to hope that Icepaw is right, that my nightmare is just a dream. We are always fighting, and while I always wake up when the battle start, I know that we are outnumbered..." The tom shook his head before turning his gaze to Patchpaw. "The other part of me want it to be true, just so I know that I'm not worrying about nothing..."

"Well everybody would want that, if it doesn't happen then we feel bad, but if it does then we feel worse, if your dream is true then we all need to train as hard as we can before it can happen." she meowed, acknowledging her father. 'Who wouldn't feel bad?' she thought and placed her tail on her fathers back.

Stormstar just shook his head, before looking at Patchpaw. "You should go ask your mother if she wants to take you on a patrol or training. Just in case."

"I will, but we can together, after all I've never been on patrol with you." she sighed and pushed her nose to her dad's cheek.
