Opening of eyes

Midnightkit, for the first time, padded quietly out of the nursery. The first thing she noticed was the temperature; cold. It was really cold. She shivered slightly, her soft kitten fur not completely protecting her from the early morning chill in the air.

Gingerheart had been basically chilling out in the middle of the camp as the small new kit walked out of the nursery for the first time. She had immediately caught the young warrior's attention so Gingerheart got up, shook out her fur and padded over to the kit. "Oh hello there. Who might you be?" She asked happily.

Midnightkit backed away slightly, her voice shy. "Midnightkit." she replied, shy. "Who are you?"

Nightwing opened up her eyes from washing the dirty mud off of her jet black paws. Noticing the tiny kitten, she smiled. The clan is becoming larger. The black deputy thought. but then dark thoughts clouded her mind. Like a thick haze, she remembered the lingering danger or the rouges that drove out SkyClan. Nightwing tried to shake the thought, and watched the kit talk to Gingerheart. If they got along, Nightwing would put in a good word with Sagestar.

Mallowpaw walked out of the medicine cat den with a slight yawn, the cold wind ruffling his fur, making him shiver with every pawstep. His tired eyes looked to the direction of the nursery, his ears pricking up at the commotion. He looked at the kit, his face; instantly brightening. "Hello!" He meowed happily to the kit

Midnightkit jumped again as the medicine cat apprentice spoke to her. "H-Hi..." she mumbled in his direction.

Mallowpaw gave Midnightkit a quick smile as he turned to Gingerheart and Nightwing.
"Watcha up to?" He asked them quietly.

Nightwing still cleaning her paws, The Shecat flicked her ears. " Cleaning all the mud off of my paws." She mewed cooly. She glanced up, and gave her chest fur a few licks, before continuing with cleaning. Having rather thick fur has its difficultlys, but it keeps her warm in the cold.

Midnightkit watched the Shadowclan deputy lick her pelt and glanced down at her own. In contrast the deputys thick fur, hers was thin and fluff like. It did little to protect her from the air. She shivered.

Fallenpaw awoke with a yawn, stretching with a silent flex of her claws. She blinked open her sea-foam eyes, shaking her pelt to rid herself of the grogginess that plagued her every time she rose fromher nest, usually only dispersing as the excitement of the prospect of training with her mentor, Nightwing. But today she was not stirred from slumber by her deputy's greeting, so she simply strolled out of her den in a slow, faltering pace, half-lidded eyes struggling to become accustomed to the light. She nearly jumped as she was suddenly bathed in frigid air, before she spotted a gathering of cats in the clearing. She licked her chest fur, smoothing down the ruffled patches as she struggled to look dignified after her fur spiked. She glimpsed her mentor is the small crowd, and she walked over to her with a tiny bounce in her step as she saw a tiny kitten beside her.

"Hello, Nightwing!" she greeted. "And hello Gingerheart, Mallowpaw..." her voice trailed off as she reached the tiny bundle (something not a great deal smaller than her, actually), and she smiled. "What's your name?"

Midnightkit flicked her ears, startled, but maintained to keep herself from jumping. "Midnightkit." she meowed softly.

"Midnightkit? That's a wonderful name!" She mewed as she saw the nervousness of the small kit. The sight of all of these larger cats must have been terrifying. She nodded her head in greeting to Nightwing, Mallowpaw, and Fallenpaw. "Hello." She then turned her attnention back to Midnightkit before she laid down in front of her to be closer to the kit's size. "How are you?"

Midnightkit was quiet for a moment, shifting through her thoughts for an answer. "Cold." she said, "And confused."

Fallenpaw sat in the frigid clearing with her tail tucked neatly around her paws, and was in good humor despite the chill and her still-lingering grogginess. She nodded to the kitten, before beginning to groom herself with a rough tongue. After a few good strokes she looked presentable, and she cocked her head to the side in a kit-like manner as Midnightkit replied to Gingerheart.

"What are you confused about?" she mewed.

Midnightkits ears pressed against her head. "I-I've never been out here before." she meowed softly. "And, I don't really know you."
