Mallowpaw looked at Lionstar with a sly smile, an amber glaze deeply lighting his eyes. "Hey, Lionstar," he greeted. As a monster flew by, he stepped back, ready to run and go home.
Mallowpaw crouched down, grabbing the herbs that muffled his voice. "How's ThunderClan doing?" he asked, glaring at the two cats.

Dewclaw backed off, her snarl disappearing quickly. She dipped her head to Lionstar. "I was just on a patrol, Lionstar. This apprentice challenged me, saying I couldn't chase him down and catch him- on his side of the border. I turned it down, of course." She was annoyed that the tom hadn't shown proper respect to Lionstar; while he was a Medicine Cat, he was only an apprentice.

Lionstar nodded in greeting. "Hello." He rumbled.

"Is that so?" He meowed when Dewclaw had finished. Looking back at Mallowpaw, the leader stayed quite calm. "Shadowclan is just being a little disrespectful as usual. You'd think they'd treat their apprentices better." He sighed as if he felt bad for them. "Too much pride. Seems to me they're afraid of showing weakness. Not that it's any of our business. He'll go home eventually, and if he passes the border, we'll know. Why don't we head back to camp?" he finished, looking at Dewclaw. There was a brief flash of trickery in his eyes, as if to tell her "Not really, but look like it".

Mallowpaw smiled again at the leader and the warrior as he continued to pick some more herbs, flicking his tail, still ready to run.
