Random hunting patrol

Dewclaw stretched in the early morning sun. She looked around at the trees beyond the camp- all a beautiful orange-yellow-brown mix of colors. This also meant, however, less prey, and she had to store up as much prey as she could. Dewclaw didn't bother grabbing any prey, but instead waited for anyone interested in joining her.

A dark shape emerged from the shadows, it was Mosspelt, "Hello Dewclaw"

"Hi, Mosspelt. I'm going to go on a hunting patrol, if that's alright with you." She was trying to be as respectful as she could, as she knew it was usually the deputy's job to make patrols.

"Interested in joining me?" She asked simply.

"Sure, ill join you" he meowed

She looked around at the rest of the camp. "Looks like everyone is sleeping." She stood up and headed out of camp, looking for a good place to start hunting. "It will be a bit cold for the prey, so they'll be somewhere sunny." She mumbled to herself. Entering a clearing where the sun shone brightly, she got into a hunter's crouched and sniffed for prey. A pigeon was sitting in the clearing, pecking at worms in the ground. Stalking slowly forward, she leapt and caught the bird in her mouth, crunching its spine and killing it.

Mosspelt followed her and got down in a crouch and slowly moved toward the scent of a rabbit. (dem rabbits >.<) He slipped through some bushes and saw it, it was a mother rabbit eating a nut. He rocked on his haunches for a moment then slammed his powerful legs against the ground and pounced for the rabbit and slammed his paw on its neck and it snapped like a twig and he walked back into the sunny spot and buried his kill.

"Nice catch!" Dewclaw said, noting to herself how hard it was to catch rabbits by suprise. She had burried the pigeon, and was now sniffing around. She scented mouse and slowly stalked it through the grass. Leaping, she caught it between her claws and crushed its neck with a swift blow.

IC: Mosspelt meowed "Thank you" and he quickly got the smell of another mouse he dropped down and saw it was about a fox-length away he launched toward it and bit it behind its neck and snapping its neck he dropped it in the hole with the rabbit.

IC: She burried the mouse with the bird and raised her head, sniffing the air for more scents of prey. She smelled squirrel, and looked around for it, trying to locate it. Dewclaw spotted it facing another direction, and she slowly stalked it. Before she was close enough to jump, it heard her and began to run, but she chased it down with only a few bounds and killed it.
