Falconpaw's Training: Part 3 (Battle)

Falconpaw planted his paws square on the ground, then jumped forward at his mentor. Lashing his tail out involuntarily, he jabbed his paw out flat, catching Duststorm on the shoulder before he ducked off to the side, as if the bigger warrior was attacking him. Quickly, he regained his composure and landed a front paw blow on Duststorm's side. Finally, to complete the move trifecta, he headbutted the tabby tom and knocked him once more on his back. Jumping onto his stomach, Falconpaw quickly did the belly rake, holding himself back from unsheathing his claws.

He jumped off his mentor once more and looked towards him, panting heavily, the fire of battle alight in his eyes.

OoC: Perhaps that was too much... I have no idea if you did any counters, so if there's something wrong, please tell me and I'll edit it. c:

Duststorm watched Falconpaw attack him, and next thing the warrior knew, he was flat on his back again. When the apprentice had jumped off, the tabby tom started to laugh. It was a rare occurrence for him, and caught him off guard, which only made him chuckle more. As he got to his paws, the tom shook his head lightly.

"You let your feelings control you," he told Falconpaw, still grinning. "I apologize for laughing. You remind me so much of myself at your age, trying so hard to impress all of my clanmates. My feelings were always in control, so much so that I got in trouble countless times. I even lost a special she-cat because I was too angry and upset to fully comprehend what was happening."

The mood had suddenly shifted. In the silence, Duststorm cleared his throat and turned back to stand facing Falconpaw.
"Do not make the same mistakes I did," the tom said, a hint of pleading in his voice. "Now, try it again. Focus on the moves you are making."


OoC: We can try this time with the stamina and health points. To help each other out, make one move at a time so the other has time to react, and put both users' points up.

Duststorm:

HP: 240/240

Falconpaw:

SP: 20/20
HP: 80/80

Falconpaw felt a feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach when his mentor started laughing. Why is he laughing at me? Was I that bad? But when Duststorm mentioned how much the apprentice reminded him of himself, Falconpaw felt a bit of tension in the air, hearing a light pleading in the older cat's voice as he told him to not make the same mistakes. He had no idea how to respond to all of that, so when Duststorm invited him into another battle, he was more than happy to bring that to the forefront.

Starting off, Falconpaw darted forward, using his smaller frame to get low enough to thrust his front paw at his mentor's leg with a front paw strike, making sure to keep his paw flat as he moved forward.

Duststorm:

SP: 80/80
HP: 234/240

Falconpaw:

SP: 15/20
HP: 80/80

OoC: I'm normally good at Pokemon battles like this, but I think I should've grinded more levels. X3 If I subtracted anything wrong, my apologies. I'm just looking at the chart.

Duststorm took the front paw strike and responded with a Front Paw Blow, costing 5 stamina and 5 health.


Duststorm:

SP: 75/80
HP: 234/240

Falconpaw:

SP: 15/20 (This changed because you took the points away from the wrong part~)
HP: 75/80


OoC: The sad thing about being an apprentice is that Stamina is taken away rather quickly, which really limits the amount of things they can do. I think that for practicing purposes, we'll only take half of it, since nobody's using claws to actually harm the other.

Falconpaw shook off the blow and charged headfirst into Duststorm, bowling him over and using the Belly Rake, costing 5 stamina and 7 damage.

Duststorm:

SP: 75/80
HP: 227/240

Falconpaw:

SP: 10/20
HP: 75/80

OoC: Half stamina it is then. Still, this won't take long. x3

Duststorm pushed Falconpaw off of him and got to his paws. Taking a deep breath, he shook all of the sand out of his fur.
"You're going to make a great warrior," he told his apprentice in praise.


OoC: I'm so lazy right now, I'm sorry. You understand how to do it, and battles don't happen often anyway, so I think we can stop now. XD

Falconpaw grunted as he quickly pushed himself back onto his paws, softly smiling as he nodded at his mentor. "Thank you, Duststorm."

OoC: Ok, that's fine. XD I was about to hop into a video game anyway, which would cause my replies to admittedly stop entirely. Although I was thinking of holding off so I could, you know, still post. :P
