Not Much Fun for A Blind Cat

Sootshadow sat outside the Elders' den looking at that very bush that she hid in when Riverclan attacked them, though she didn't know what she was looking at. She hasn't done anything ever since Snakebite died. She could hear the camp busy with activity while she just sat there. She needed something more productive to do.

Stormwing trotted out of the warriors' den, happy as usual. Not that there was anything to be sad about to her at the moment. "Hello, Sootshadow! How are you today?" She asked, dipping her head politely to the elder.

"Same as ever." She mewed. "I just wish I wasn't blind so I could hunt again, and fight. Just like I used to. Those were the days, the only threat back then was Envyshadow." She mewed remembering those days like every elder does.

Stormwing sighed. "I'm sorry to hear about that, but for now the only thing I can do is hunt for the clan and protect the borders, like any other warrior. However, we are short on apprentices, seeing the only warrior apprentice is Tornpaw. Would you like me to fetch you some prey, or some fresh bedding for your nest?" She mewed cheerfully, trying to make sure the wise cat was happy in some way. Elders were useful even if they didn't do much, because they had experience and wisdom from when they were younger, that they could share with the younger cats.

"No. I am fine. Stonestar brought me some prey this morning, and Brambleclaw cleaned out my bedding yesterday. Ever since Snakebite died it hasn't been the same. It has been very lonely." She mewed.

Stormwing tipped her head. Most of the warriors in Skyclan weren't old, so unfortunately Sootshadow would have to wait a while for some company, along with the fact her mate just died...

"Well, if there's anything I can do to help, just ask me. I don't like to see my clanmates unhappy." Stormwing mewed, padding over to the fresh kill pile and sitting down to eat.
