Bramblepaw and Rainpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Stonestar looked outside of the den. It was sundown and he felt it was time so he jumped on the sky-rock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here under the Sky-rock for a clan meeting!"

Rainpaw padded out from the apprentices' den and sat down beneath the skyrock. Her fur was neatly groomed like always, and she looked up at Stonestar with curiosity gleaming in her eyes.

Blackpaw came out of the apprentices' den and sat below the Skyrock, Rainpaw is going to become a warrior, I just know it... I wonder how she feels right now... I would be nervous... Blackpaw decided to keep all her thoughts to herself.

Gracestep flicked her tail. She was trying to get her kits to sleep here!

Bramblepaw padded out of the apprentices den with his fur neatly groomed and went to sit next to Rainpaw beneath the skyrock. I wonder what Stonestar is going to say. I hope it is nothing bad. he thought.

"It is time to add two more members to our ranks. Bramblepaw. Rainpaw. Step forward please" Stonestar meowed

Bramblepaw was really excited for this day to come and now it was finally here. He then stepped forward as Stonestar told him.

Rainpaw's eyes opened wide. This must be my warrior ceremony, she thought with sudden realization. She walked up with Bramblepaw, her heart pounding. She was finally becoming a warrior.

Stonestar looked to the sky as he spoke "I, Stonestar, Leader of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code and I commend them to you each in their turn."
He looked down at the first young cat, deciding her turn was first. "Rainpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect your clan even at the cost of your life?"

Bramblepaw could feel Rainpaw next to him quivering with excitement. He was probably doing the same.

"I do," Rainpaw mewed truthfully, determination in her eyes.

"Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name." he said, "Rainpaw, from this moment you will be known as Raincloud. StarClan honors your intelligence and patience, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SkyClan." Stonestar jumped down and rested his chin on her head as tradition, waiting for her to lick his shoulder.

Raincloud licked Stonestar's shoulder respectfully. Raincloud, she repeated to herself; she loved her new name.

Stonestar stepped back and looked at the other. "Bramblepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your clan even at the cost of your life?"

Bramblepaw looked at Stonestar, "I do." he said proudly
