Herb hunting

Silentpaw padded along the frozen river, glancing around as she tried to find some herbs. She knew it would be very unlikely to find herbs in this cold weather, but she still had to try! She glanced across the river, and toward ThunderClan's side of the river. Would she meet a ThunderClan cat? She had only met two, and who knew if they were really nice?

Bluefur padded out of the bushes. She saw the cat, but pretended not to notice. She padded to the river and bent her head to drink.

Silentpaw froze when she saw the ThunderClan cat, her long gray fur fluffed up in fear, or was it just from the cold? Shaking her head, Silentpaw went back to sniffing the ground, and picking up some feverfew. She glanced at the ThunderClan she-cat again, who was getting a drink now. Why did she feel like she had seen this she-cat before?

Bluefur sensed she was being watched, and looked up. The cat was stareing at her, so Bluefur just stood there, watching to see what the cat would do next.

Silentpaw placed the feverfew down, and padded to the edge of the river. She placed one of her paws into the water, and quickly pulled it back once it hit the cold water. She sat down, letting out a sigh. "Why can't you be here, Badgerfang..." she whispered sadly, wishing that she could explore the territory with her mother, who never left the camp anymore.

Bluefur watched the kit."Hey," she meowed to the kit. "I've seen you before! Your Badgerfang's kit! Um, Silentkit!"

Silentpaw looked at the she-cat, tipping her head. "It's Silentpaw now.....oh, you are Bluefur!" she meowed happily, jumping to her paws. "I haven't seen you in forever!"

Bluefur purred. "Glad to see you remember me, young one." she meowed.

Silentpaw blinked, nodding. "I'm sure Badgerfang will be happy to hear that I saw you." she meowed, before quickly pawing at the feverfew. "To bad that it is so cold, so I can't find a lot of herbs."

"Ill help you look if you want." she meowed.

Silentpaw shook her head, "No, all the Clans need herbs. The herbs on your side should be used for your Clan, not mine. Who knows when you are going to need it. I am sure we will be fine. There has been no reasons to battle, so I am sure we won't need a lot."

"Ok." she meowed. Then, without warning, Bluefur Jumped into the river. Her head came out and she looked at Silentkit. Then she swam toward her. "You ok?" she asked.

Silentpaw looked at Bluefur, her eyes shining. "You swim like a RiverClan cat," she whispered, then shook her head. "Oh, I am fine. I was just wishing that my mother was a warrior still, my sister was an apprentice like me, and that Swanpaw was still around..."

"Oh." she meowed. "You want to know why i swim so well?"
