Cowbelle started the day just like any other. She checked on the Elders, ordered the apprentices to de-flea them, went herb hunting, checked her herb stock, check it twice ---

SWEET MOTHER OF WINDSTAR.

Well, that was not good. The rarest herb (to all Clans but RiverClan) in her stock was all out. Nothing left. And the only place to get it was by the River. . . she was sure that RiverClan would allow her. It had been established that all Clans would be allowed to gather that herb, as much as they could carry, once every five moons. Well, it certainly wasn't five moons since she last replenished, because last time she had only had herself to carry some of the herbs, which were badly depleted. The other medicine cats had gotten there first, and they had apprentices to aid them. Cowbelle didn't have one yet. . . Making a mental note to consider one of the new kits, she padded out of her den, to the nearest Warrior --- Butterflywing! "Oooooh, Butterflywing! Will you please escort me to the River? I need an herb," She asked. Normally, unless they had immediate duties, Warriors didn't say no to her.
